This 100%. I was a very young, little punk rock kid at the time and when somebody with a "boom box" cranked that song (Four Horsemen) on the school yard...I just had no idea what to make of it, other than I knew that I had never heard anything like it before, and it was just simply amazing. People did not play rhythm guitar that way. I was mesmerized, It was literally like an alien life form had dropped it off from the future. I get chills thinking about it. People who were too young (or too old) cannot fully grasp what early MetallicA did for music at that time...Changed things forever.
Indeed. And that raises a serious question, from me. Was it always “Creeping Death” - I just remember my tape was "Garage Days" but sadly that tape's been lost to the ages.
