Jump in the Fire... great bouncy, greasy riff.
100%, its the best written song on the album that wasn't written by Dave Mustaine

True story. The jerk off preppies and jocks that would give you shit for being a metalhead in HS were the same jerk offs running around singing Enter Sandman by ‘91.
They could have them, I had already moved on to much heavier shit by then anyway.
Huh? Wasn't that one of the first songs he ever wrote?100%, its the best written song on the album that wasn't written by Dave Mustaine

I'd always heard he wrote the riff too, then James and Lars just helped with lyrics/arrangement after kicking Dave out.He wrote the original lyrics for it. The riffs are hetfield IIRC
Even the lyrics were changed after they kicked him out, apparently, but I have no way to verify that of course.
I'm way more of a dave fan than a hetfield fan, so as much as I wish you were correct that's not what i've heard![]()
Dave may have wrote that riff...But James plays it way better. more staccato, better muting technique....Just generally more precise and aggressive.I'd always heard he wrote the riff too, then James and Lars just helped with lyrics/arrangement after kicking Dave out.
I mean, it SOUNDS like a riff Dave would write and not one James would...but with the history between these two bands who the fuck knows.
Did . He plays it sloppy and not as tight these days . But I agree with you . James makes the tones happen with his hands and how tight he doubled alreadyDave may have wrote that riff...But James plays it way better. more staccato, better muting technique....Just generally more precise and aggressive.
I love them all, and really my first thought was Jump in the Fiahh but chose Whiplash because I felt such a bad ass song deserved more respect than it wss getting so far in the votes. Really though I love em fucking all, and picking one best song is impossible.I genuinely have always liked 4 Horsemen the best, and it appears many of you have good tastes like me.
Every song is greatI love them all, and really my first thought was Jump in the Fiahh but chose Whiplash because I felt such a bad ass song deserved more respect than it wss getting so far in the votes. Really though I love em fucking all, and picking one best song is impossible.
Really? Whiplash is my least favorite, by far, on the album. It boggles my mind that that song became a live staple.I love them all, and really my first thought was Jump in the Fiahh but chose Whiplash because I felt such a bad ass song deserved more respect than it wss getting so far in the votes. Because the floor went fucking nuts during that song when they played it. It's the same for all the "pit" songs back in the early days of thrash. Same thing at a Testament show when the played Into the Pit, or Exodus when they play Toxic Waltz.Really? Whiplash is my least favorite, by far, on the album. It’s odd . It’s basically Dave’s songs on every song almost .That's tough. I ate, slept and shit this album. No remorse or Metal Militia. You can hear Mustaines riffs all over that album. Not sure what songs he actually wrote though. I love the tone of the guitars on that album. Sounds raw and live, not dry and processed like MOP and subsequent albums. Same with Peace sells and SFSGSW. People always bash the tone and mix on those albums. Once computers came on the scene, there was something lost with the tone and feel. I stopped listening to Metallica a long time ago and Megadeths last 10 albums suck as well. I can't listen to Mustaine after they wrecked his voice after his neck surgery and his tone is dry and processed and has no life to it. Both bands are done.
Jesus…It’s basically Dave’s songs on every song almost .
You ever realized that ? LlolJesus…
