Yep and everyone said the Norlin era stuff was garbage so you could even get LP Customs from the 70's and early 80's for relatively cheap. Now for some reason people have decided Norlin era stuff is special.
You have to figure all the best stuff has long since been accounted for and is sitting in a collection. All the ones that get moved around for silly money are probably the 2nd tier stuff.

In the end, unless you're some collector, you just have to look out for stuff that catches your eye for whatever reason and try it out to find the gems out there. Just a case by case basis. Chasing the trends that cause big price fluctuations is a losing proposition.

The cab pricing thing has been stupid for a while. There is a mint looking Marshall Mode Four cab (with the 70 watt V30's) in Atlanta for a pretty reasonable price though. I already 2 of those speakers in an EVH 2x12 that sounds great so I really don't need it, but its making me itch.

I have some things I'd like to sell but I have had the worst luck selling locally in recent years. It is all the shit that has been mentioned. Flakes, flakes and more flakes, guys who make a deal then show up with less money and act like you have no choice but to take it, and my favorite - this one mexican kid who I swear has responded to almost every guitar sale I have posted on FBM saying he will buy something, but keeps changing the day and never actually comes. Every time I would post a guitar he would eventually message me and I would be like...yeah, remember me? We've done this song and dance, and he is just like "lol no bro I don't remember." This same kid like 4 times over probably a 3 year period.

Yeah, hated at the time, somehow beloved today. In the late 90's I threw one of those 10lbs 70's era strat bodies in the garbage can. The paint on it was as thick as a quarter but the bare body weighed more than my complete strats. Now it would fetch all kinds of $. It belonged in the trash though.

Saw this on FBMP today. I never knew replacing grill cloth was so easy lol

It's already like California...let's not make matters worse!
Lol. I'm pretty sick of Texas and tbh have spent several years considering my next move and am having a tough time seeing anyplace that looks better when I factor music, weather, things to do, and work opportunities. I've already moved to FL three different times so I suppose I could do that again for a while though truthfully I am told that the island of Crete is the Texas of the mediterranean but I don't have them kinda resources.

Perhaps elsewhere in Texas besides mini San Fran

Oh man the V thing, that's a sensitive spot. I always wanted one, but I absolutely refuse to pay the silly money I see them listed at.
Yeah, no shit. People are asking $1000 for a MELODY MAKER, and $1500 for a fucking faded. It's ludicrous. Ive been looking for a V, but gave up. Same with Explorers. Last V I had I bought in 2010 and it was $1199 new. Classic white with an ebony board.

Man, I have an ‘06 Explorer I bought in 2013 for only $600. It was like new other than the guy having swapped the tuners. I remember thinking it was just an “OK” deal too.
