Fryette and Friedman are live now

Guy in the baseball hat needs to go. Constant interrupting, assholic behavior.

Funniest thing was Dave Friedman talking about how people call his amps dark. I have been parroting this as well. But the one i heard live, didn't sound dark at all. Sorry, Dave.

I never did understand that. Are they harsh, ear bleeding bright? No. Are they dark, smooth, polite or whatever? No, not in my opinion.
I heard clips online. But to be fair, they were probably in the room, which definitely sound boxy and darker than micing the amp. I know it is supposed to sound like in the room. But to me a properly micd amp sounds a lot closer to actually playing the damned thing..before you post eq, etc.

Here’s my BE50 from a few years back. Doesn’t sound dark at all to me…just well balanced

I can listen to my old in the room clips and remember the sound of the amp, but I still don't like them as opposed to micd clips. But I am one of those that hasn't played a friedman, and just went off of what i heard people say plus iphone clips. Recently, at a death metal concert, i heard a guy play an 8 string through a BE, and it wasn't dark, so I was surprised. Now it all makes sense.
