I think people confuse warm with dark.

I think it’s impossible to make a valid claim that people confuse two words that are both meaningless, entirely subjective tactile terms that do not translate to objective audio phenomena at all.

“Warm” and “dark” could mean the exact same things or the exact opposite things depending entirely on who you ask, what day you ask them, phase of the moon, etc.

Steve got a buzz and Dave never got to finish his cool Van Halen tone stuff . Lol he kept cutting Dave off . But I love him still lol
steve is really hard to listen to man. i have a family member like that, even when he is sober.
i gave up on the malcontents a long time ago as i cant take steve never finishing a story,
but ill listen to anything with friedman bc, just as in this instance, he occasionally gives up some awesome info, like the aforementioned story of eddie not liking VHI tone.

Ya Dave never finished a few stories . I get into the story and they got done . Can you image if they do get Bogner on show with them too . Lol it would be a disaster. I was ready for Dave to give up more Eddie storys

It was interesting.
I listened to a few tracks off the first two VH albums yesterday the first time since 1979. That and how Steve does bias. Not too much spam. It's their day off and a fairly casual approach. They go pretty deep into gear occasionally. More detail than most of what is available.

I'm kind of surprised no one else anywhere has mentioned Dave talking about Ed.
