It is really hard to quote you so I apologize in advance

You keep bringing up Amazon but I thought this was about Sweetwater?

You were making fun of Indiana and gluten earlier and as much as that's your choice, I was just letting you know that was below the belt for me. And Celiac Disease is called just that. Celiac Disease. It is not a fancy way of saying gluten allergy - like a peanut allergy. Both can kill a person, just one is more slowly than the other. Both are an autoimmune disease. Besides, I don't make fun of your health issues.

The information I brought did not prove what you say it does.

You created a rather defamatory thread last week. This one. The one that is now in OTC. I felt compelled to provide facts that proved otherwise. Both here and there. But I've wasted enough time on you today. Good night. :)

But please make sure you have the last word
Nvm..... Whatever other fluff and pivoting BS youre talking about......Let's talk about shit that actually matters.........

They are both essentially Monopolies in regards to SweetWater and Amazon........ 100+ year old laws haven't kept up with the modern day....

Despite laws saying and telling companies/corporations like SweetWater or Amazon not to break the law doing A, B and C and to do X, Y and Z per anti-trust laws and laws against Monopolies.....

They still do A, B and C but just call it D, E and F with loopholes and are essentially modern day Monopolies as a result.....

Nvm their "Campus".......... In America...... This ain't China/North Korea/Venezuela...... Last time I checked it was America *_*

If one wants to buy from Amazon and order from Amazon Prime that's fine...... And support a Monopoly destroying American business that's fine....

Me Im not doing it for said reasons.......

If one wants to buy from SweetWater and support the destruction of the American Music Industry they can much like they can buy from Amazon...... Its a free country after all :dunno:
Well, there's no more local shops. There's a GC near me, they have low overhead, no inventory, except used "advertised as new" guitars on the wall covered with boogers. As far as Amazon, they can go fuck off with their China crap. I love those old mom and pop shops. "We don't have it, but we can get it" is why they are OUT OF BUSINESS. They didn't understand what the online business model was going to do to business and didn't anticipate the capital needed to stay afloat and stock inventory that people actually want. So I would say "I can get it too, faster and cheaper than you."

They chose to be ignorant and not adapt, had zero online presence, zero marketing campaign and now they are a memory. I have zero pity for them. When I want something, it's usually not a $100 squier fucking strat, but a specialty item. Brick and mortar shops would stock fucking flutes and $100 guitars for 10 year old Johnny. Fuck 10 year old Johnny and the fucking horse he rode in on. Sweetwater always has what I want because they understand a few things.
1. Have stock of what people actually want.
2. Get it to them fast.
3. Provide excellent customer support
4. 2 year warranty
5. One point of contact and when my one point of contact is out, there's always a secondary point of contact that has been well versed on the customer base they provide support for.

Guitar center is always a fucking hassle. I don't know how they are still around. They don't give deals, wont budge on prices, so FUCK EM.

I could give 2 fucks whether they are the last music vendor on the planet and all the competition files chapter 11. 99% of shops don't understand a simple concept that goes MILES with discerning people like myself. When I spend thousands on gear, my number 1 concern is CUSTOMER SERVICE.
No customer service = FU

Sweetwater is TOP FUCKING NOTCH, /CASE_CLOSED

I've seen it many times, all over the country: Mom & Pops couldn't afford a Gibson, Fender, PRS dealership (minimum stock that's a massive investment) so they stock Aria, ESP, and the like. And with no online presence, they were doomed to failure.
Simply put, Sweetwater did it right and succeeded.
Almost every player mourns the loss of local shops but it was bound to happen.

Monopolies and the way they conduct business is unAmerican...... IMO Amazon/Sweetwater and the way they conduct business is unAmerican.

If you want to buy there be my guest but as said I simply won't because I'm not going to support an unAmerican business.

Its that simple :dunno:

Yup Willcutt, Bizarre Guitars, Nstuff, Pitbull Audio, Moore Music....

Don't forget Music Zoo, Wild West Guitars, Walt Grace Vintage.....

There are so many other alternatives to SweetWater than just GC, MF, Zzounds or Reverb nowadays.

This should be easy to settle (but Im sure it won’t be…). @The~Kid - please prove to us, citing established laws and regulations, that the business known as Sweetwater meets any of the defined criteria to be a monopoly. Although they have served me well for decades, I don’t have any vested interest either way. But, you seem to have a very strong assertion that they are operating outside the bounds of law. Do you have proof/evidemce?

It would be easy to show......

If SweetWater released their numbers...... But they don't do that because they aren't stupid enough to do that I guess..... Much like Amazon.

And well just shy of being a Monopoly or actually being one, they operate as a Monopoly in a sense where no one can really compete with them if they wanted to much like Amazon.

But let's have some fun and use basic deductive reasoning and well........ Common sense, basic maths and most probable/likely estimates.

Even if you are generous and say 40% to water down the numbers right..... Or use 2 billion instead of 1.8 billion..... In either conservative or loose estimations...... I mean.......

Hell it's honestly up to debate and well much like with Amazon it's a pretty healthy one :dunno:

The oddest thing here too is......

Usually when you have a conservative and loose estimate and IME in general with anything from looking at bank stuff or say like estimates of the CBO..... Estimates of say players values or estimates of projected say debt or earnings etc etc over the years since the Recession......

Its hard to put your finger on it but usually in general such estimates for something like this have a wider margin and gap between the loose and the conservative but here......

Yeah, here it's a pretty tight one on both the conservative and the loose estimate.

Hhhhhmmmmmm

I haven't been to a GC in over 5 years. Was about 10 years before that.

They provide ZERO value to me unless perhaps they have something used and rare that I've been hunting for (been about 10 yrs since that happened).

SW has provided what I needed several times in the last 5 years and they made things right the one time I needed it, and have made a deal every time I've bought something big. I don't count on them for advice. I know how to select the gear I want. They just need to provide a competitive offer.

They need to raise their game bigly regarding the mystical "55 Point Inspection", however....(so does almost everyone else).

I buy from local shops when I can, and will even pay a little more if there is value in the overall relationship/experience.
