I rarely lean into it but we’ve been doing In the Evening lately so it does get used and I don’t worry about it. if you are doing Vai in Crossroads style acrobatics I’m sure it would not hold up

Gotcha, I might give a try to a floyd + Graphtech Unlock nut & see how that works out.

I built these three Warmoth Soloist along with a couple great luthiers that did the fretwork, using the best hardware, they turned out pretty good.
I also own two Anderson’s and Suhr’s, The thing I appreciate is Warmoth I can Actually see the various tops to pick from and all three are Solid 1-
piece bodies, just a little thing that I like, though I did have to “call-in” to Warmoth to specify, no mineral streak, light weight transparent etc.

How are you,

I've been doing a lot of session work including clinics, I would play gigs from time to time, just for the fun of it. Recording a lot of client projects.
I haven't had a lot of my own time to record, but so far this summer there's been a lot of "Party in the Park" festivals that I've been involved with.

The thing that makes them a lot of fun, there's anywhere from 2000-3000 people attending per day (Fri-Sat-Sun) I've even been asked to play acoustic
guitars between bands? It's just fun to play! During the day BBQ, a ton of people having fun, even if it's hot they still want to rock, I've played in a number
of Jam situations, I've always been good with improvising, even if it's "kind of Journey-Ozzy-Dream Theater-Leonard Skinner-VH who ever" at the festivals.

Yeah we’ve got a couple of those coming up too but ours are more like 300-500 people haha. That’s ok, they still pay more than the bars we play in the winter… sounds fantastic as usual, you are one of the best players on RT IMO

I've built 3
'99 -tele - all new stuff. Best of the best at the time. Cost me 1300 with case.
2010 - strat - cost me 1400 with case. Spent 400 or so modding too sss with a clapton circuit.

2022- vip - this one cost me 2200, no case. I sprung for a flamed neck, custom paint, and high spec.

The days of building them for a little over a grand are gone.

I probably won't build another due to that. Plus, 12 guitars is plenty. Lol

Why Warmoth?

Because you can get things like carved top teles, thinline strats, chambered bodies, rear routing, cool thing like sss and a 6pt trem on a les paul shape, odd pickup routing, etc.

Warmoth, musikraft, etc. provide all of this fur us.......discerning (we'll go with that) guys.

I am a fan of them, but there are so many bodies and necks on the market that you can buy a lot cheaper.

These three are absolutely beautiful. Great example for people wondering if a partscaster can rival a high-end name brand guitar. Zero shame in farming out fretwork or paint / finish depending on your experience and access to the right tools. I have had a couple of my partscasters 'pleked' and it made already wonderful guitars incredible. I enjoy spec'ing every detail myself and I love assembly and set up. Getting better with a soldering iron, too!!

Thanks I appreciate that! I did have a lot of fun building them and Yes with everything to my specifications but I will say it takes a lot of patience!!! I’m sure you know. I still had to do the Drilling strap holes, pup install, Floyd string bar, Sanding (neck tolerances) soldering pickups and 5-way Schaller mega-e switch. I had to drill two holes for the Floyd brass block Claw, the patients and a bit of skill, because one wrong slip? Just the parts are very $$$

I could have used a luthier/technician but I’ve been doing my own guitar work since I was around 14, including amp biasing, capacitor change and most repairs. Other than a passion for guitar, gear has been my preoccupation. The only thing I never become proficient in, Fretwork, there I’ll use a professional (with high reputation).

Im picky, I want what I want. Now, if that want just do happens to be "on the shelf" somewhere, id definitely be interested.
Or if it didnt compromise what I was shooting for with the build.

Excellent work and great job committing to your projects - your patience and good sense paid off. I think alot of people underestimate just how much harder it is to craft something so nice without the benefit of professional equipment, and a strong budget for tooling.

I always try to purchase both the neck and body from the same manufacturer. The neck joint seems to have a better fit that way. Here’s a couple Warmoth I built

That's gorgeous, is it by chance a 24-3/4" scale? I just recently saw ESP's take on this style superstrat - stunning guitar - 5K+
