Years ago I had a boss who would give me crap about sleeping during the day. I would tell him I am so excited about tomorrow I get up 8 hours before it it starts ... besides I am not lazy like you .... by the time you get up I have already been awake 14 hours.

Hahaha

i love being awake at night.

so peaceful. quiet. and very easy to get circuit designs completed, homework done, or just relax on RT.

i rarely do this during the day because i stay active and have things to do like everyone else. its amazing your ex boss said that. thats unreal.

Righnow I am thinking
ISP Decimator
And some sort of reverb unit..

My replacement case for my one MII arrives tomorrow, The road case I had it in the foam insides literally turned into Petrified foam lol

He is still a good friend ..... he just sees life different than me .... and was looking out for my own good. From his point of view that is.

I have seen that kind of thing before .. it's kind of strange.

i wasnt impressed with the ISP. it did what its supposed to do, but to be honest there isnt anything correct cabling, correct cable managment, avoiding ground loops, and little stuff like that can solve with noise. i got rid of it for tickets to a pit-pass/NHRA event and i dont regret selling it.

again, great unit. but not for my playing. it was definately sucking a little tone and that bothered me a good bit

Yeh every time I put it back in the case it completely covers the guitar again along with a strange film of residue..
I didn't even bother to finish restringing it completely...

Finding a replacement case sucked also went to 4 stores including a Sam Ash and guitar center,
So I had to settle for an ESP Case..

I really feel sorry for people who fall into that trap. I mean we all need money to live. But for many they chase it all their life's and the more money they have the more unhappy they become. They have the false idea that things well make them happy or some false security.... things often do make you happy at first, but before long it just becomes a responsibility and loss of freedom. I have seen this over and over again. Often in friends and family. Some how they just become slaves for others who are farther up on this false pyramid. There is no security ... everything even your life can be taken away at any time. If you watch them they only become old, bitter and afraid.
Life is to be lived ..... not to become a slave.
i agree very much so... i my self do not really associate my self around people living to chase the money... i find some of these people are the most judgemental as well...telling me how to live my life. if I ever get a full time job it will be one that i am happy with and look forward going to work each day.

gear wise for me i am waiting on a carbon copy i bought from this board... it will be the first delay pedal i will use. i just got a cd in the mail - melvins your choice series...very cool. i'm going to watch the wall dvd now, and then go for a run

Melvins haha cool I opened up for them and GWAR in the 90's..

I always liked Buzz Osborne ... pretty down to earth guy.

Now you're talkin'.

NHRA nationals were held right here in the new Zmax dragway in concord NC which is another hop & a skip from where i live. it was totally badass

tickets were $65 a piece but the seats werent bad at all. was really cool

i love anything with muscle and horespower, its my other addiction thats even more expensive than my music, so i havent even bothered starting on it

I haven't driven in over 20 yrs. due to an eye disease (retinitis pigmentosa).
My wife and I looked at how much we've got invested in my music gear and realized it wasn't 1/10 what I'd have invested in a weekend drag car if I were still driving.

A live NHRA event is on my 'bucket list'.

R~

yes i can totally believe the price and cost. i have a friend who street races a camaro he's built - he cant buy his gas at the pump because it isnt high enough octane. he runs only sunoco fuels, and ships his fuel to his garage behind his house in 50 gal barrels.

the cost he's put into that car and fuel alone was more than i cleared working retail last year all together. that is a real money and time investment, even moreso after they are built for constant tuning to get it perfect.

i will most definately be going again next year if the nationals are held close to here again. it was really cool - just let loose all the stress and go gagga over 8,000HP dragsters and smelling nitromethane in the pits. it reminded me the first time i cranked my 5150 to 6.5 with both cabinets and hit an E. was really cool.

sorry about your eye condition. im colorblind myself, and retinal degeneration runs on my mom's side of the family. you should definately check it out if you ever get the chance, it was well worth the ticket costs

That is what I have been telling my self for the last 5 years.
I thought guitar stuff cost me a lot of money, my race car is a huge money pit..

yeah $20,000 in music equipment is considered expensive.

in muscle cars you can spend $8,000 on a 93-104mm turbo alone. i know some high end motors built by steve morse that are in the $50,000 - $75,000 range

racing is a HUUUUGE money pit. if you finish an outlaw 10.5 car from start to finish you passed hell about 150 miles back
