First saw them in 2001 back when they were called "Shabutie". Was only about 10 people there to see them including me. Been one of my favorite bands ever since. Really cool guys too. Used to be really shy. That went away as they started to make money, hah.

Nice. I just saw them in April for the first show their Neverender: SSTB tour in Kansas City. It was pretty cool to hear all those old tunes live. Plus the acoustic set was rad.
The Neverender tour was really cool. My 10th time seeing them. I don't like Year of the Black Rainbow at all, but they are still an awesome live band. Chris Penne annoys the shit out of me on the Neverender stuff though. Refuses to play the original percussion parts. I get that he wants to play it his way. I've done the same thing with drum parts in bands. But Neverender was supposed to be a major event, not just playing a show. Listening to the boxset actually makes me angry, heh.

Are you into the story of The Armory Wars at all, or just a fan of the music?

Sorry for hijacking your thread, haha.
Hijack away. I live in BFE so I have to make it an event to go see anyone that doesn't play the county fair circut. I got the neverender box set and it kills. I actually like Penne's drumming, but I know jack shit about drums. Year the Black Rainbow grew on me. I was actually having this ocversation with a friend about how some one's love for a band can keep them from realizing when an album blows. Oh well, I still dig it.
Yeah I've read the comics and stuff, but its not that big a deal to me. I don't think Claudio is actually that good of a writer, literature wise. Lyrics and composition wise, he's hella good.
I like Chris Penne as a drummer. He's immensely talented. I just don't like him changing all of the percussion parts on the first 3 records when they play them live.

I only like half of No World for Tomorrow. The Reaping/Title Track, and The End Complete saga. Can't stand everything else.
I much prefer the old version of "Mother Superior". It's actually an old song Claudio has had written for a long time. I used to play that song with him when I'd see them on tour, after shows.

Wow those are some complicated, and expensive setups... or am I just cheap!

Here's mine..
bought.....
"Alienears.com" single driver in ears, $189. Free mold from local audiologist.
Carvin rack wireless transmitter, $200.
Shure cheap wireless Mic, $300
Already had....
Intellifex + SM58 + 4 space rack.

rack is placed on Stage between my singer monitor, and My lead guitarist monitor.
1/4 out from Mic into channel one Intellifex
XLR to the house
SM58 aimed at band and my center monitor, plugged into channel two Intellifex.
Intellifex out to my carvin transmitter to in ears.

Center monitor is all my guitar, no vocals, hence no feedback from mic.
I dictate how much of my vocal and band/guitar go into my in ears with the channel volumes. It's an Intellifex, so I get mad efx to blend as well.

1 minute set up, only need the Mic cable from the sound guy.
Totally self sufficient!

Shure PSM 200 - $400
Skull candy ear buds - $20

I'll never go back to wedges. The shure has 2 inputs, one is my guitar, the other is the rest of the band. As long as I get a mix without my guitar, I am good to go. No more ringing ears, or constant turning up my amp so I can hear it.

yeah, that's what we use in the band (Shure PSM 200).
The sound is not that great but it's better than wedges IMHO.
