Live music sucks & its your fault.

The general public just don't care that much about live music anymore.

Times, they are a changin'.

Watch out for the pesky hand-trucks.

Not the youts.
The youts still do. There was a large group of them at friday's show right up front and well dressed I might add. Texas is about 20 years behind the rest of the United States in a lot of respects it's just that unlike other areas of the deep south there is more economic activity here so people have more money to spend on entertainment rather than just using it as a way to pass hard times.

It's gotta be someone I'm really interested in to go see them live. I guess I'm part of the problem.

You think my half ass jazz/fusion/prog/metal, played by an old not cool white dude should be unleashed on the public?

Seats will empty, and females will be repelled by an invisible force field for miles.

If the alternative is old dude cover band, I’ll continue to wallow in obscurity.

Don't ever sell yourself short brother. In my experience people love any live music that is done well. Unfortunately that isn't the majority of live music so a lot of genres have been given a bad rap by musicians who are thirstier for a gig and a few greasy dollars than they are in achieving something excellent.

Was at an August Burns Red show last Sunday and the Dallas hardcore scene was pretty impressive. Least amount of people on their phones, and the most crowd surfers I have ever seen. I feel like I’m noticing the mixes getting tailored to cell video playback more and more too.

I wouldn't say live music is on the way out. Rock and roll and metal and the blues are. Everybody has seen the giant crowds at Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift concerts.

There are still a few bands that also attract crowds like that, such as Metallica and GnR. But they're getting old and it's kind of hard to see who the torch will be passed on to.
