I'd still rather have one of these:

1994 Marshall Limited Edition Jimi Hendrix 1959 Reissue purple tolex full stack guitar amplifier, made in England, featuring 1959 Super Lead 100 watt limited edition head, a 1982A limited edition 4 x

I really liked Green Day’s pre-Dookie stuff, Dookie and Insomniac, but I went off the band after that. I’m neither a massive fan of nor hater of BJA or the band, and I don’t mind the tolex colour. With that said, I would say that having listened to a bunch of demos I don’t hear anything that special. Most of the demos don’t sound good to my ears, but Ola’s was good once he hit it with the boost. Some reviewers get very, very close to the Dookie recorded tone but I’d have thought there are more affordable ways to get it.

I'm not a big fan of the light blue tolex with the gold. If it had a silver panel with the blue, I think it would look better. I understand that they were trying to match the color of the Dookie album and his blue guitar.

I've been listening to more demos. Some of you guys are nuts, the amp sounds fuckin great.

It's not a modern super high gainer with gigantic low end like we all love here, but to me it strikes a great balance between modern gain and a lean, quick, punchy Marshall. To my ear it sounds like a perfect Crunch amp. It's AC/DC in a box but the Gain knob no longer stops just short of where you want it. If you push the gain too hard, yes the rhythm tone shits the bed, but Rectos do that too. Don't max the gain and/or cut some lows with a pedal and you're there.

Say what you want about the band's political direction, say what you want about the color, say what you want about the price, but that circuit sounds real damn good. Bob Bradshaw knew what he was doing.

I’m glad I bought Europe’s last old-priced non-demo 1959HW for 1975€ 2 months ago. These days those go for 2599€ and the 1959BJA is over 3000€. 😱

i remember being at a party in middle school when Dookie came out, this fucking prick who i cant stand to this day took out my Primus tape to put Green Day on and i wanted to fight him. Next time i see him at the super market it might be on
Frizzle Fry ??

This is marketed squarely at people who were teenagers when Dookie came out, became big fans and now have disposable income.
While MTV was shoving Green Day hits down our throats, I was busy listening to Pantera, Manson, and Devildriver on headbangers ball. Needless to say I’m not a fan of the punk rock scene but I acknowledge the impact they had.

Also the amp sucks. It’s 2026, add some features. Power output scaling, external bias, effects loops with features, so on and so forth.
Agree here about the features. No excuse for it not to have a loop at the bare minimum. But apart from the nice aesthetic the value for money on this amp is ridiculously low.

If you buy a handwired 1959 and have someone mod it. it will be over 4k anyway.. unless you buy used. Everything is expensive now. I'm not a fanboy of the band but I do like the guitar tones.. a lot. Cavallo got my respect with them and that Paramore stuff he did. I'm interested to know how the preamp throw is, whether it gets bloated and muddy, or if its usable all the way. I'll know friday..

I could only imagine how much hate there was when the sex pistols model came out, now that was an industry plant. Didnt expect quite as much greenday hate.

Love em or hate em. They are relevant and their name being attached to something is going to generate buzz. Need buzz to keep kids interested in learning guitar, playing analog stuff in workflows not just digital. I personally dont understand all the creed/mark Tremonti love or the limp bizkit revival. But fuck it if it keeps people interested.

Off my soapbox.

A lemmy kilmeister reissue would be cool though, this marshall have to pass. Idc if its marshall headfirst ceriatone. Idk if the superbass circuit for the lemmy signature was really that special or not. But man his sound was great to me.
I mean....... Green Day aint no fucking Sex Pistols bro..... Wtf....

Green Day is some straight edge, plebe, pedestrian stuff compared to Sex Pistols 😂

This don't keep kids interested..... It's for ageing millennials and gen xers who scalp and flip shit like this trash...... Let's be real here and if anything this garbage steers kids away from Marshall :dunno:

The RT Soy Boy Beta Male Cucks all love this gay soy amp. You know who you are! :ROFLMAO:

Hey is that Picasso poking his head out of OT? Nice to see ya around, brother!

Weird that you're calling people gay or cucks though, you never do that!
