Got to really crank the amp this morning. As the volume goes up you get more usable range out of the EQ. Not bright at all and I was able to get pretty good sounds regardless of where the knobs are set. Just depends on your taste. This is unlike most Marshalls where you can definitely get a horrible sound if you're not careful.
The only negative thing I can say about this amp is you get some loud pops when you change channels. I just about shit myself when I switched from low-volume/high-gain Channel 2 to channel 1, that I had set up for high-volume cleans with the master at noon. That pop was like a gun shot lol.
