Sweet amp. The Roadster does well at low volumes too. Here's mine, Ch3 in Vintage mode. The camera thins out the sound a bit but you get the idea.

Well, after years and years of GASing for a Dual Rectifier I finally pulled the trigger. Its WAYY overkill for me and honnestly is probably too much amp for my needs, but what the hell?

I had a mini recto prior to the dual and while the mini recto sounded really good, its not quite as good as the dual recto IMHO. I know Mesa claims that its the exact same preamp, but the 6L6's really give it a different sound to my ears. Even running through my TNTL the dual recto sounds different vs the mini. Not bashing the mini here, I still think its a great amp.

In any case, Im really pleased with the amp. I read several reviews saying that the 3 channel rectos are a bit buzzy, but I havent found that to be the case. Anyway, here are some pics....

Besides the fact that is a great looking recto, what makes it even more awesome is that it has its own Tardis

I've had several Rectos over the years, and I've always thought they were bad ass amps. Fantastic choice!

I like to consider it smaller on the outside.

How do you guys recognize a reborn recto? and how do they sound different than the older 3 channel rectos?

There are a few ways, the best way to tell is it will have a 50/100 watt swich on the front per channel, they also got rid of the solo head in the lettering where it says rectifier, although I believe part of the first year of them they still had it there. The footswitch is also different, instead of being a 5 button it is a 6 now and stacked instead of in a straight line.

Difference in tone is not as much bottom end because there was too much to begin with, also clearer and brighter in tone.

Website shows a picture of the 50/100 watt switch.

Sweet, I've never heard a Rectifier sound that good at low volumes. Good work.

Are you using anything extra in the loop to get the volume down? Sounds really good. I've been trying out a volume pedal in the loop and keeping it very low while driving the amp fairly hard and have gotten good results. If it's capable of that on its own, that's pretty sweet.

I was turned on to that from a Splawn quickrod with a loop master volume control.

Since we are showing black rectos :D

The Recto has more girth than a Quick Rod for one. The preamp gain is more prevalent and easier to get going at lower volumes. The Splawn needs to be cranked up a bit before you get out of the thin lack luster tone department. I used to run a volume pedal and a volume box but in the end it sounds better without it.
