Hey one question, initially I thought the loop was foot switchable, seems like now that is not the case? I will probably wait for the 30, these days no club can bear the 100W soldano volume
30w is never the same in the feel department as a 100w though. And if the master has a good taper I’d go with the 100.

they probably left those corners off for cost reasons...I didn't even notice that. I don't like the big feet.. they need to use the same size feet on the originals..looks weird. I have heard that they sound just as good if not better than the originals.. I guess we will see

I'm having a blast with mine; though it did not come from sweetwater.

So I’m assuming you like the new version better than the old one because you are selling your old one in the classifieds?

The new one is very cool. I'm on the fence about selling the old one. If it sells, it sells. If not no worries.

The loop is foot switchable. There is a switch on the back that removes it from the circuit.

Glad to see the new SLO 100 out, however I think the SL030 will out sell it. Tough time to launch an amp though, regardless.

At least it's cheaper than some of the used ones people were selling on Reverb. Those prices were crazy, hopefully there'll be some rationalisation of the used prices.

Yup, hopefully some sellers will come to their senses...the most expensive one on there (snakeskin with KT66) won't even bias correctly according to the previous owner.......hence why he hasn't put in $50 of 5881s, despite even saying in the listing "I highly recommend changing to the Sovtek 5881 power tubes."

The knobs go to 11, is that new or have they always?
That is one better, isn't it?

Always

FYI Reza has a demo up on youtube

Sounds good but there are a ton of other amps that will get you there cheaper.

Sounds like honky, harsh, ball-less SM57....like every clip he makes. BAD should pay him to stop...

I think his demos are great.

I agree. The SLO is not where my heart and ears are at the moment, but his demo did is justice. If I were in the market, I'd feel like Reza's demo gave me a good idea of what I'd be getting.

This is great. Love the chat pic. Everybodys a keyboard cowboy these days. What you could not possibly know is the amp was sold under the pretence that it was purposely built to take KT66 tubes. This was not the case. The bias was set as low as it would go to use the Kt66 and was borderline too high. Had the amp been played at higher volumes they would have been short lived. Yes it will work but was it built to do so; absolutely not. Biased fine with the intended 5881. I explained this to Jonathan. How someone takes factual information and twists it to suit their need is beyond me. I spent alot of time cleaning up the misrepresented cab, that was part of the purchase, that I bought from him. Not only was the top covered in tan latex paint but it was on the grill cloth as well. The speakers were covered in about a half inch of dirt. This was after I drove 6.5 hours, one way to pick it up. When you take pictures of something to sell they should tell the whole story not just part of it. I wanted to sell the amp and cab just like I received it except cleaner. I offered to retube the entire amp and bias it. But not for nothing. I forgot to mention that it had a hodge podge collection of preamp tubes. It was not tactical it was whatever they had in tubes at the moment. He led me to believe he was going to buy the head back right up until I was ready to go out the door to ship it. I spent over an hour cutting a box down and getting it packed. Then nothing from him.

Some people lie like they breathe and are fine with it. And sometimes Karma gets them back. Gotta love that 5150.

As far as the original dropping in price, maybe. But I doubt it will. Owned the new SLO for a while now. And I will keep the original with the correct 5881 and proper preamp tubes. The new SLO will not replace the original.

I like Reza's videos.

Do I play like him? No. Do I tune like him? No. Do I use the same speakers as he does? No. But, his videos are very consistent, aren't over produced, and I have found do a great job of demonstrating a fair idea of the sound and response of whatever amp he is looking at. He is great at demonstrating (in his longer vids especially) gain and eq response ranges.

Pete really doesn't do amp videos anymore, but even if he did...they'd all sound perfect. I don't want that.

Anyway, I know Reza rubbed some people wrong here some years back, I never really understood why (sounded vaguely racist to me but I don't know) but I wish we'd all have a bit more respect for each other. Too many smart guys with good gear and good ears who are afraid to post because of the barrage of crap they'd receive. Talked to one just the other day on Reverb.

I just wish for once someone would do a vid of the new SLO tuned at standard A440 , and play different styles of lead and rhythm guitar parts clean to dirty .
Not everyone these days plays detuned with chuga chuga raw gain and leads with effects .
And turn the damn MV UP to atleast 6-7 , the SLO does'nt open up and start to sing until you actually drive the power section .
