Finally broke down, and now is one of my favorite cheap guitars of all time (no fret edge problems on mine, though I've heard they're not all consistent).

I expected to get a Mexican made strat made to look like an EVH guitar. It does have some of that flavor but in a good way.
I am happy with my purchase. I went the extra mile and bought an EVH hard case for the Striped Series from Music Zoo as well. I am going to be keeping this guitar.
The fit and finish is exceptional compared to other models at the $900 MSRP range. The trem is very stable and the guitar was IN TUNE when I took it out of the factory sealed box. That was a shocker to me. All logic would say that I would have to screw with it straight out of the box. Maybe this was a freak coincidence. It is not a true floating trem (can't pull up). The neck feels great and the frets are dressed great. No sharp edges and no buzziness. It has an Alnico 5 humbucker that actually sounds pretty good for a stock pickup on a cheap guitar. It's not noisy or microphonic.
It's not a $2000 guitar for cheap but I am happy with it and it's been fun to play so far.

Cool...thanks for the info. I'm close to jumping on this once another guitar sells. I have a guy there that will hold the price for me whenever I call. I'm not big on expensive high end guitars...most of my gig guitars are under a grand.
That site was selling a white, 2 humbucker Charvel for almost the exact same price, they sold out of them pretty fastBrokenFusion":3969pyif said:Looks like a great deal. Really close to pulling the trigger but the pickup config is kind of boring. I like the switching options and Duncan pickups on the new Charvels, probably worth the extra dough over this.
