Dialed in a BRUTAL rhythm tone on Ch.2 and channel 3 has so much gain it is sick!I have played on them before but it was always at ampfests or at NAMM where circumstances make it hard to really hear the amp...It is hilarious to me that I had to go all the way to Japan to get some QT with a Herbie!

I really dug it and could see myself owning one for sure.

The Herbert has more bottom end for sure, but the EP is a tad tighter. I really like the feel of the Herbert, it was really effortless to play on. The EP is a bit stiffer unless it is really opened up volume wise. I would really like to use a Herbert in a band situation, that would really tell me if I it is an amp for me to own. Sadly, that will probably never happen unless I buy one.![]()
I am definitely on the lookout for a good deal on a used Herbert, though. If the right deal comes along, I will probably buy it.![]()

VH4 i thought, had more of a clear mid emphasis that had that cutting edge type of feeling that a marshall does. the gain was very unique and defined, where the herbert was a complex gain tone with its own character.
