So you think you have a big amp collection right?

Man this got me to start looking around for a price check on JP2C. I had the Mk VII for a while and really liked it and I still have the 2CP Synergy module, but would love to try the JP2C.
JP2C is a different beast to the Mark VII , besides the features I really struggled with the JP2C as it had this really boxy projection to the notes and had a slower inital attack that the Mark VII didn't suffer from. The Mark VII also was more percussive and less compressed.

I have owned the JP2C a few times as well as the Mark VII, Mark IIC+ reissue and the Mark IV and for me the Mark IV was my favorite of the bunch with the Mark IIC+ being my second choice ,but they all have there pros and cons , so what works for me may or may not work for you.

Thanks for the info. It’s one of those things where I’m probably not pulling the trigger, but it’s tempting

Same. I like the VII more than the JP2C. There's nothing wrong with the JP2C and I get why some people love it but it does sound kinda pre-filtered to fit more narrowly into a mix or something while the VII sounds more modern and wider overall.

This has been my experience as well after owning a couple of JP2C. The only way I can recommend a JP2C over the other amps mentioned is if you are going to gig with it and need two similar high gain channels, which I'm sure won't be the majority of people.

This collection is insane and was destroyed in a flood a month after this was shot.

I'm thankful I don't have nearly that number of amps. Too much of a PITA even with 2 heads, 2 racks, and 3 combos.

The JP2C is an awesome amp and the best of the Mark series if you're planning to use one (as opposed to a rack with multiple) Mk. series live.

Damn, makes you sick to see.

That was the big Nashville flood, right? I was there for that. I was driving on the highway around town at the time and I remember being in a line of cars driving the wrong way back up a highway off ramp because the rain came down so fast it was the only way to get out. I drove across the entire town to get home that day while the rain was coming down, splashing down side streets, cutting through fields and lots I had no business in so I wouldn't get swept away. It felt like being in a movie.
