Telecasters are just incredible.

Ha! "You're not ready"...that's so true in my case. When I was younger, I wouldn't have been caught dead playing that old man's country guitar...now (pushing 40) I really dig the sound, looks, everything.

After reading all the rave reviews, I bought a cheapo Squire Classic Vibe and it is an excellent guitar for the money. Unfortunately for me, the lack of a forearm carve on the body just kills my arm...I've got borderline carpel tunnel so the sharp edge digging into my forearm hurts like hell after awhile.

I guess I'll have to order an Anderson or Suhr version... :D

Tele's fucking rule, every player should have at least one in their collection. I,...have 4 and a half:

This is ugly. Looks like someone's about to go on stage with Elvis.

This thing is SICK, I would totally rock it. I confess that I only own one Tele, but to me it is about the most perfect guitar.

I think I have avoided buying more because I know I will lose my mind and end up with another collection.

Used to be a die-hard tele player, then went the strat-way but I got this one earlier this year and it's pulling me back into the tele-camp BIGTIME.

As stated, tastes change. I always hated the look of a tele. Then about 10 years ago I started to kinda like them. Now the gas is out of control. I've had one ordered (Suhr) since July and the build got delayed so I'm looking at later this month or January. Nothing looks classier to me than a bound tele these days. Expect pics when it arrives. The squier CV is a real cool guitar at a real cool price. I agree though, I really don't like the butterscotch tele's for some reason.

Tele's are my favourite.
They're pretty much all I play/own now.

I had a Trussart Tele a few months back, and it was BADASS. I'll definitely be getting another one down the road...

Telecasters IMO are the perfect guitar as far as playability goes. I have also grown to love the look of them. I had to sell 2 of them earlier this year to fund amp GAS. But I will be picking up one (or two!) really soon. Thinking of a 72 Deluxe and either an American Standard or Custom Shop Classic.

Not to take away from your love and passion WHATsoever, as I am a complete and utter advocate of the "to each their own" mentality, but of ALL the guitars out there in this world, the Tele's are the one that I cannot stand the sight of.

The look of the standard butterscotch Tele with maple neck makes me want to hurl. No offence, and I'm speaking with a lot of ignorance as I've never even brought myself to try playing one, but ya, I just think they're hideous.

I used to feel that way but they grew on me and I dig them. They have their place for what they do well like anything else but IMO, lack the versatility that I crave.

For me , I have come to realize that Stratocasters are the goods. Ive always played humbuckered floyded guitars even though the majoirty of my main influences played strats and the more that I play strats, it has me questioning why I havent been playing them all along. Truthfully, I think that every player should have a strat, tele and LP in their arsenal because they all have their places and uses.

I just got my first one, even though it's not a fender, it was the last kind of guitar on my list I needed for recording/sound purposes and I freggin fallen in love with this thing!

Man, had a cool Tele and loved it. Sold it though because I felt my playing didn't do it justice. I can't pick and stuff like those country guys do. I just hit power chords and single note lead blues box stuff. Makes me sad but I just can't "play" a Tele like it should be played. :aww:

Well, just for the record, I am 40 and age has little to do with my want or lack thereof when it comes to Tele's. I know a lot of extremely iconic musicians who play 'em and love 'em, none the least of whom is Keef - and I think that cat's got steeez out the yin-yang. But you know? It's just personal preference, nothing more, nothing less. As some of you may recall, I really tried getting into a proper Strat for the single coil tones, and just couldn't play 'em. I couldn't understand it, and then my distributor sends me a Suhr strat which is almost identical in geometry and it plays like buttah for me... So what's up with that??

I have picked up the odd Tele here and there to strum 'em, and they just feel brutal against my body and in my hands. For me, they're just too primitive. But again, there's a LOT of love for them and I'm not taking away from that, hats off to ya if you can make one yours!! I know John5 and Jim Root and Keef and a whack of other cats play 'em and love 'em, but they're just not for me.

Cool to see some of the pics above though... Very nice, very nice...

I think teles are awesome. If I had to get a tele style guitar it would be this (although a traditional one would be great too).

Hey Bro, I wasnt inferring that your age( or anyones age) had anything to do with it and completely agree that its all about personal preference. Its like anything else, Neck size, width, heavy or light, low action, high action, seems like there are a zillion and one things about guitars that make one person love it and another hate it.. In the end, its all good!!

believe it or not my buddy picked up one of those Squire blondes they had a run on in GC and MF a while back..he got it on sale for like $140 or some shit....anywho, I was there when he went looking and I raped the shit outta that thing for about an hour or so...plays FANTASTIC

he's been thinking of switching the pickups so I had him bring it over when he and vrad came over a couple weeks back...thing sounded retarded good through vlad's boosted super lead....

anywho...I really dig tele necks

I used to think Tele's were butt-ugly country twang guitars. Now, I love Teles, because they are simple, no frills tone machines. They have a unique sound all their own that is impossible to get with anything else.

In my PERSONAL opinion, a deluxe dual humbucker tele ain't a real tele. It's a Tele-shaped Superstrat.
