the best tone of the 90s

These are comments that you see on TGP with dudes yelling at clouds about van halen or jimmy page lol. There are a TON of awesome bands today with real instruments. You're right that it isn't mainstream, but that isn't because people aren't making the music. Labels and marketing just don't push it.

People were terrified that Knocked Loose pig squealed on "live tv" when they performed on Jimmy Fallon. Hopefully that's a sign that rock and metal are coming back into popularity. Never thought I'd hear a pig squeal on tv lol.
Dude I love knocked loose . But back then there was big bands selling albums and sold out arenas . Not packing just clubs . I love knocked loose. . But your description of what I said was way off . I’m speaking facts . You must have not been there. Sleep token is only new band selling out arenas . One new band. There was countless bands playing the Fy Wayne arena EVERY month. Now sleep token and 5 finger death death punch are we got in a full fucking year . It’s not old tpg talk . It’s sad af . I could go to Nirvana , Pantera , and Aerosmith in just one month at one point
But anyhow the one band you brought up I love

Garage Inc has the best guitar tones...and overall production of that decade. AIC Dirt and Carcass Heartwork...Not far behind.

Out of this I pic carcass. I love the garage inc tones a lot though . Too much gain though at tab sludgy for me . But killer tones of course. What’s weird is since James added the 2++ back in his tone they have not been as good .

Truth. In the '90s even in Florida which gets the shit end of the stick on many national tours for heavier and underground music I could go see multiple hard rock and heavy metal shows doing arena tours. Not anymore. Most of the times these days it's at the Hardrock, Jannus Landing, the St. Theatre, or the Ritz.

DeLeo always has great tone. Also the Black Crowes dude Rich Robinson had great tone.

This is probably my favorite 90's blues tones. I dug the album cause it was all rocking blues, no blues-rocking. I'm pretty sure Mesa was pretty prominent on this record if I recall the liner notes correct.

🔥🕺🏽

It terrifies me too; that dude sounds fucking horrible lol

They'd be a killer band if they fired that dipshit

I see what you mean. I just dont think its a band issue. It seems like more of a label/marketing issue. People listen to what's popular, which is your initial point. What's popular is what's jammed down their throats and that comes from marketing and media.

I was using knocked loose as an example as to why there will hopefully be a shift back to the scene we all love. I may be in the minority but I dont like arena or stadium shows. Sound quality is usually better in most of the theaters and smaller shows to me. There was this venue in NJ when I lived up in the northeast called Starland Ballroom that was awesome, so many great bands came through there

I'll throw this into the conversation. The whole album screams big balls to the wall hard rock from the first song to the last.

I love the tones on Dopes to Infinity too.
