They all sounded great. Goes to show how important the man behind the board is to great recorded guitar tones.

+10 ..Yep agreed

I appreciate that you do these. I skimmed through fast and I liked the Cameron Ocean, the stock JMP, the Rhodes, and the Triple Recto. I wasn't a fan of that JCM 800 Ive heard better ones. Yes the high gain stuff can sound similar but I do hear the subtleties and these videos help me for when Im looking for a new amp (always!)

some things to keep in mind, if you're listening to them on your phone, or a laptops built in speakers, you're probably not hearing what you would if you were listening thru decent speakers or even 40$ headphones, and a lot of them will sound the same, i know i encountered this right away, and, im kinda glad i did.

i know if i listen with my wife's laptop, or my phone, it sounds like every amp there is all high end KHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH and some speaker flub.

if i listen with my desktop speakers that i paid 200$ for to specifically listen to music with and edit recordings, i can tell differences but i can't pick out the subtleties and details of each amps sonic signature like i can with my trusty 100$ headphones that i've been using for a long time.

all the intent, tweaking, gear, money, etc can't determine how it will sound through the user endpoints you will encounter....not everyone has "rig talk" type personal computer setups to listen to 3thousand dollar amps through, not saying that's a bad thing, but 90% of end users have a shitty set of computer speakers at best that they're going to judge these clips by. just my .02.
all in all, i LOVE having these videos now on my computer, along with all the other amp fests and pickup shootouts that james has done. i use them for reference for my own needs, even if i'll only end up owning 1 or 2 of these amps in my life....this served a purpose.
