Live my kemper. Honesty, it’s been so consistently great. Sacrilege, but it also lets me know which amps sounds I like and don’t like. Just make sure to get some good profiles. My favourite have been Lasse Lammert and Tue Madsen. Also enjoy Josh Middleton and Ultimate Metal Tones who is a member here.
Absolutely. For me, as someone who has never stepped foot in a recording studio, it's been great for me to learn how to actually dial an amp for recording too. Sometimes I play around just matching my real amp recorded tone to good profiles. Makes me realise how I was way off with what I was dialling.Same, it's an excellent tool. I didn't try it forever because the "modelers are so much better than amps derp derp" people put me off of it.
They're great and really useful for recording demos, trying stuff out, etc. From what I can tell they are also really helpful for people learning to translate in the room tones to recorded close miced tones, too.
As long as you don't try to make it into something it's not (a replacement for real amps) they are excellent, and a great tool to have around.
I don’t have any idea how to operate it but Juggy hooked me up with the profiles I believe….
