But for real, watching all you guys buy sweet new PRS'...man. I'm going to feel like I rule the world if I'm ever able to grab a six or eight hundred dollar SE model. I guess what I'm saying is I want to be gay too.![]()
I been looking at this guy but I'm guessing it needs different tuners and a pickup swap:C'mon in, the water's great!
That's gorgeous, I dig that blue top! You should get it! But you gotta play some lydian and dorian phrases.I been looking at this guy but I'm guessing it needs different tuners and a pickup swap:

Gots no money right now and those are about a grand brand new. They have an ebony board on them which is pretty sweet. Good things come to those that wait. That's gorgeous, I dig that blue top! You should get it! But you gotta play some lydian and dorian phrases.
Well I can go take extra pics of this one for you at my local Guitar Center...if you don't mind plastic toys for guitars. It's only $549 I think.Gots no money right now and those are about a grand brand new. They have an ebony board on them which is pretty sweet. Good things come to those that wait.![]()
Congrats, they are really great playing and feeling guitars. I had a similar notion. I’m a Super Strat guy through and through, don’t like Fender or Gibson models either. But wanted to try a different shape so bought a CE24 in 2017…fast forward 9 years later and I now have a bunch of them
Damn that's ugly.Well I can go take extra pics of this one for you at my local Guitar Center...if you don't mind plastic toys for guitars. It's only $549 I think.

This is the one I ended up buying tonight. It's an 06, unfortunately it's poly instead of nitro. While it isn't a 10 Top, it has just as much as, or even more, than some other 10 Top guitars I've seen. So it looks good enough for me.View attachment 445566View attachment 445567View attachment 445568View attachment 445569View attachment 445570

I've seen where other people have swapped the rotary to a toggle. If I end up changing pups, I may do that. Maybe I can try a Screamin' Demon again, as I'm a fan these days of medium outputs, though I am a DiMarzio guy at heart.Congrats! Beautiful guitar.
Replace that rotary switch with a Gibson style 3-way and you’ll be golden. Add a push/pull tone knob if you really want those coil splits.

They're supposed to be the HFS Vintage and HFS Treble unless they've been changed. Some people really like the PRS pickupsHence the high used prices
I hate the old ones, but a bunch of the newer ones are really good
It's honestly one of those things that will probably be 50/50 for you
If I got a PRS with the 85/15, metal, something like that i'd keep em in there - the 5708s are really not my jam, but lots of people like em
a 2006, those are probably HFS/Dragon or something? I dont think they were doing 5909 or 5708 yet
The 85/15 "S" models are pretty awesome IME.If I got a PRS with the 85/15, metal, something like that i'd keep em in there - the 5708s are really not my jam, but lots of people like em
