What Band do You Regret Not Seeing Live?

I've seen Alice in Chains a few times, but never saw them with Layne, so that's probably my biggest regret.

I never saw Death live. (this is a big one for me)

I've seen the Who, but I'd love to have seen them with Keith Moon.

I've never seen Pantera.

Elvis. When I was about 13 a friend's mom had an extra ticket and offered it to me... I turned it down. duh.

Heart. I had no idea the whole band was such a kickass LIVE act back in their radio hits days. Oops.

...and... I wish I had paid attention to more than just getting shitfaced when I DID attend Pink Floyd, Yes, ELP, and REO Speed Wagon concerts way back when. Kid hanging with the wrong crowd apparently.

I’m going to go with ZZ Top…

Especially before the move to digital, quantized drums and the pop BS…
I just saw ZZ Top last week. Was a great show but would have loved to have seen them back in the day.

My biggest regret is probably never seeing Rush.

It is crazy but have had a lot of shows I missed due to circumstances outside my control. My high school friends and I were going to see Metallica in 1 Oct 86' in Saarbrucken but obviously Cliff passed. Then was going to see Motley Crue on the Girls, Girls, Girls tour and Nikki overdosed. I had tickets to see ACDC in 2016 and three weeks before the show, Brian Johnson blew his eardrums out in that race car.

I have seen some great shows though and some obvious ones I never got to see. Never saw Ozzy, Anthrax or Megadeth and have always been into all of them.

Fear Before the March of Flames
Anatomy of a Ghost
Every Time I Die
OG Norma Jean lineup
Hella
Ahleuchatistas
Operation Ivy

I was never really into the stadium stuff. My favorite shows are auditoriums and clubs partly for the cost and partly because I can actually see the performer in action without the aid of tv screens.
I'll be honest, I enjoy those smaller shows so much more. Saw ACDC last year and felt like I was sitting in the next state and $250 a ticket. Meanwhile, I have seen L.A. Guns, Sebastian Bach, Quiet Riot, Yngwie, etc. at this club I go to with other like minded metalheads and have like 4 to 5 bands for $25 to $45 typically. Everyone is cool, close to the stage, etc.

Most of them. I was 4 years old when Van Halen went pop. I was 6 for the Appetite for Destruction tour. SRV died when I was 9. Metallica went alt when I was 10. I remember literally hearing it in the 5th grade lunchroom and thinking "WTF happened Metallica?". Most of the music when I was in junior high and high school was either music to shoot yourself in the head to (aka grunge), Blink 182, or rap metal.

Basically I picked a really bad time to be born at least in terms of going to acts that really influenced me. I've seen plenty of good shows but the ones I'd most have liked to see I was too young and they blew up, died, or hung it up before I could go.

Rolling Stones in the late 80s.......guy in my class had extra tickets and I stupidly passed.

Sabbath/Dio

David Gilmour in 2016. I had an easy opportunity to see him but I passed. He did come back in 2024, but I couldn't make that one either.

Ozzy Osbourne. I had so many chances to see him when I was younger, and I was stupid for not going to Ozzfest back when Zakk or Holmes were his guitarist.

Def Lep high & dry tour
Vicious Rumors with Carl Albert
Savatage with Criss
Gary Moore

Prince, Tom Petty, Micheal Jackson, Rush, Blind Melon, Soundgarden, Nirvana, Johnny Winter, Hot Tuna
Layne era Alice In Chains
Nirvana
Iron Maiden circa 2001 just after the reunion
Dilinger Escape Plan before the 2017 split
Also Nirvana for me, but I was 10 when Kurt killed himself, so I didn't include them.
Leaving DEP off my list was foolish as well. Would have loved to see DEP with either Dmitri or Greg.

The funny thing is that when you posted this, I was at a ZZ Top show.

For me, maybe Guns'n'Roses. I had tickets to the show in St. Louis when they had the riot, but ended up not going. Long story.

Really, it'd be Led Zeppelin, but I was too young. Pink Floyd on the A Momentary Lapse of Reason tour, but didn't have the money.

I was 13 when Pink Floyd came to my home city. I should have pushed harder for that one, but I didn't go to any concerts until I was 15.
