What cab to pair with my Mills

I have played one, but I have never tried it mixed with redbacks

I've got Peavey 5150 cab with Celestion RB and Fryette FB cab. I love these combination.

These cabs recently changed specs from closed front to open front, correct?

I am thinking of getting a second cab so that I can run a full stack again. I have the Mills afterburner loaded with Redbacks. It is a badass cab, but I am looking for a second cab to complement it.

Right now I am down to an EVH cab or a Bogner uber cab. But I am open to other ideas.

Besutiful setup, very sexy guitar.
My balls ache for the reverse HS.


For that amp.... definitely get the EVH cab & get ready for some woody badassary.... be a small slight volume difference due to speaker sensitivity but Id have the EVH on top if stacking but that's just me. You may prefer that color of tone less obvious and more supplemental in which case I'd put it under the mills.

It will be a sick combination worthy of many gallons of spilled blood.

I love Fane F70s ran with Redbacks one of my favorite most used combinations.

I also really like the Avatar (fane) M65 with either. Seemed like a more clear version of a creamback 65.... Ive always liked some "wood" in my mids when I dig in on palm mutes some speakers bring it better than others especially in the room.

The Eminence GB128 was a real woody one too on a marshall circuit.

And of course you cannot go wrong with a straight up greenback cab for that MGL. That being said, Id go EVH for the flavor here.

That thing is going nowhere. I rewired it with 12 gauge and a nice mono jack. It sounds awesome

Only another Mills will sound balanced with the first Mills (I’ve tried two at the same time). I found these cabs required wildly different settings to sound their best compared to Bogner, Marshall, Wizard, and even compared to other oversized cabs like the Mesa OS. And stay the fuck away from Vader cabs unless you like flat sterility to the extreme.

Vader cabs only suck because of the speakers in them, eminence legends.

I'd get a Mesa OS or traditional. Either one depending if you want a big balanced sound or something more focused.

Can't go wrong with a Mesa or Friedman cab especially the new stuff that probably comes with the UK V30s.

I would get a cab that is more compression than the afterburner. I owned one for a while with some form of cream backs and it was very open sounding

Last night i just plugged straight into my amp with no pedals in loop or before amp. It was so massive and amazing that I decided I better not add anything to the mix.

Once you find a good set of speakers for the Mills there is no going back. Im still experimenting but Ive got 2 UK V30s and 2 Eminence CV75s and its fucking massive.

Went down the same rabbit hole and decided if I grab another 4x12 its either a Bogner or a KSR. The KSR is built incredibly well and has similar baffles to the Mills. Bought a 2x12 and have been dying to add their 4x12 to the mix now that they're doing free freight shipping on orders over $1999

I forgot that ksr did that...that is a great idea

I think it's the upside down cross that makes it sound so bad ass. So just get an old beat to fuck Marshall 1960A cab and slap an upside down cross on it and Bob's yer uncle.
