Problem with SSO is that the membership seems to skew young and kinda stupid, lacking all common sense. So heavy moderation seems needed to keep the board remotely useful. They've erred on the side of over moderation, obviously. I've seen them threaten major artists with a ban simply because the moderator disagreed with them. The board is a good resource for 7 string players (evidenced by the fact major artists are on there in the first place), but the mods need to exercise a bit more common sense themselves.

I really love that. I had a thread deleted about an "Incoming NGD". The comment from the jack-hole who deleted it "mod edit: great, post a thread when you have the guitar or more than a stock photo". He didn't bother to look 6 posts down to see the pictures of the guitar I posted, and deleted it almost two weeks after those pics were posted. Brilliant.

Well, they break the rules a lot over there. Favorites are played. And, they let people with zero feedback have a bashing thread on someone, calling them a scammer, despite having never even having spoken with said individual that happens to have literally 100s of positive feedback. Then they hit said individual up on text, Facebook and other forums to do deals after they ban him. Makes sense to me.

Makes no sense to me of having a forum that discourages buying/selling guitars. This is what drives viewers to a gear forum. Well, that and drama.
