Recently picked up a Carvin MTS Cab with these G12 Carvin speakers. Anyone know what company made these for Carvin? The cone and surround are paper, the dust cap is very rigid.
The only thing i do know is they are cloned to be like the celestion V-30's
I read that older carvin 12's were made by eminence.
I have been trying to get info on these as well so good luck.

If they were meant to be a close of the V30 they did a poor job. These speakers are STIFF. Very tight bottom end as a result, definitely don't have the mid range push of a V30 either. My weakest speaker overall for sure.

I would not like them either then, i love the mid punch of a real V-30 and the bass which is not surgically tight
Well FWIW you helped me make up my mind about my 2x12 cab for my 5150 III mini
i am going V-30 loaded from carvin and definitely NOT their branded 12"speaker

Yeah v30's have a woofy bottom end that sounds amazing in the right cab, like my Vai cab it sounds amazing. These are in a similarly constructed MTS cab and just don't have any woof at all, they're extremely punchy.
I just was checking out those eminence legend V12's
damn they sound great with the 5150 III
If i had my way i would spend a week just trying all the different 12's in a well built cab.
