Cantrell
Gilmour
Wilton/DeGarmo
JP
Dimebag
Dean Deleo (for his songwriting genius  )

Eddie Van Halen- made me want to play guitar.
Alex Lifeson- helped me to learn how to play in the context of the song. Overshadowed in Rush but one of my biggest influences.
Joe Satriani- had the biggest influence on my playing. His sense of melody still resonates in my playing.
John Petrucci- his technical ability is amazing. I can't say he has influenced my playing but he has inspired me to try harder.
Eric Johnson- taught me that you don't need tons of gain to be a shredder. His melodic sensibilities have inspired me too.

toss up between CC Deville and Steve Lynch of Autograph ;)

The Fucking Champs by far  :D

I haven't been listening to them for all that long, but their style has changed my playing for the rest of my life.

And yes Chuck is a huge influence for me. Friend of mine came from the Tampa Death metal scene and spread his music to the whole school

Not trying to sound like a jerk but I am a little dissapointed in the repetitiveness of the answers

I know you guys have other big influences than Van Halen

Really? I have been dying to find more bands that have those kinds of rock harmonies. Please share some of your stuff

Chuck Berry's "Johnny B. Goode" made me want to pick up a guitar. Warren DeMartini's opening rhythm to "Lay It Down" made me want to get that sound and play hard rock. Steve Vai as the devils axe slinger Jack Butler made me want to abuse a guitar and Eddie Van Halen's "Eruption" sealed the deal. Randy Rhoads' Tribute album and accompanying tab book took over from there. Along with Jake E. Lee, Yngwie, George Lynch, Joe Satriani and Alex Skolnick and James Hetfield and Dime to finish it off.

hmmmmmm
Older Wylde
Hetfield
Chris Amott
Peter Wichers
Joel Stroetzel

Honestly, when I first started out? Paul Simon. Seriously.

When I got 'round to rock & roll and lead guitar, Tommy Shaw, hands down.

big influences ^^ solo to Renegade, although that's JY, got the spark going

Well, tbh, it was ultimately the duo of Tommy & JY that got me hooked.

I would have to say Iommi, EVH, Vivian Campbell to start but Kerry King was prolly my main influence. That said, Iommi is still my favorite, not the best but my favorite.

pat o'brian
jimi
stevie ray vaughn
kerry king when hes not fucking soloing
dimebag

and my number 1 tony iommi

Ace and Toni where the guys who got me started and it went from there.
Eddi

Warren
And the list just keeps on going and going and going.
