Fuck me how could I forget, my whole reasoning in playing guitar. EVH!!!!!!

Tony Iommi
Nuno
Alex Lifeson
EVH
Alex Skolnick
Gary Holt

All to varying degrees, for different reasons at different times, but these are who I thought of quickly.
Iommi was responsible for MAKING me pick it up, cuz of those great, basic, ugly riffs.

80's - Gary Holt, Randy Rhoads, Hetfield, Mustaine, King & Hanneman

90's - Gary Holt, Dimebag

Now - Gary Holt, Mark Morton, Willie Adler

Ya... And destruction, Kreator from Germany!

Personally, I think Destruction and Kreator are way better than Exodus any day of the week.

My two biggest influences:

Bob Dylan
Andy LaRocque

In order of appearance...

Jimi
Rory Gallagher
Zappa
Johnny Winter
Michael Schenker
Uli Roth
Al Di Meola
Jeff Beck
Ritchie Blackmore
Tommy Bolin
Gary Moore
Randy Rhoads
Ray Gomez
Yngwie
Benson
Martino
Don Mock

Marty Friedman has to be my favorite guitar player for leads.

Angus and Malcolm Young
Adrian Smith
Tony Iommi
James Hetfield
EVH

But as far as a player I wanna say zakk and hetfield is who has the most influence in my playing. I love lots of players but I can't play like lynch, demartini, setzer
this is probably accurate with me too

Steve Hackett - atmospheric, melodic and never overplays
Alex Lifeson -great all around player, covers both rhythm and lead with ease
Robert Fripp -experimentation, embraces new technology, this guy is the mad scientist of rock

My favorite points about Lifeson are his ability to fill in the rhythm in a big way, & his music writing. I felt the same about Geddy though.. Although their later stuff became somewhat common IMHO.

EVH
Lynch
Hendrix
Vai
I watched Hee Haw as kid with my Grandparents and Roy Clark used to just amaze me with his guitar playing and everything else he could play!

Metallica got me started playing in the early 90's. After that i kinda went backwards and re-visited the 80's shredders.

My list-
Brad Gillis and Jeff Watson from Night Ranger
(Their solo albums are great...although Brads are a lot cheesier, Jeff's solo albums are just awesome.)
Lynch
DeMartini
Macalpine
Degarmo

You know where im going...

Alex Lifeson. I couldn't escape his influence on me if I tried because I was such a Rush head right around the time I started to really dig in to the guitar. The fact is, although I think his playing is great, I haven't listened to Rush in many years. I've spent more time listening to and learning the styles of:
EVH
Warren Demartini
Robin Crosby
Ty Tabor
Zakk Wylde
Randy Rhoads
Mick Mars
Jimi Hazel
SRV
Kenny Burrell
David Gilmore
Neal Schon
Phil Collen
Mark Knopfler
Eric Clapton
Jimmy Page
Hendrix
Vernon Ried
Billy Gibbons
Roger Fisher
Jerry Reed
Slash
Satriani
Angus/Malcom
Jerry Cantrell
.... and the list goes on and on.

vogg from the polish band decapiated is a huge influence to me great guitar player clean style and a cool ass dude

Hearing the opening of Speed King off Deep Purple in Rock made me want to start playing the guitar.

Hearing Yngwie and Paul Gilbert for the first time in 1984 made me want to play better!!!
