Impossible to pick just one...

I Like your style Sheik!!
I need to add these to my list, these guys were
a big part of the 80's for me.

Also great picks, man!

I'm going to see Richie Kotzen here on Thursday night, I can't wait!

First it was KISS, then the Nuge, then it was Jimmy, then I heard RR and that cemented it. Started playing about a month before he died.

Couple more of mine

You and I have similar tastes.

#1 would be Richie Kotzen

I'm also largely influenced by Satch, Dimebag, and Devin Townsend

Oddly enough Mark Knopfler was the first guitarist I really noticed. I'm sure my dad spun some Dire Straits albums and I remember just loving the dude's groove and the feelings he created. Within the next few years, my ass was kicked by three albums that are still in heavy rotation at my house today: Europe's Final Countdown (Norum), Whitesnake's Whitesnake/1987 (Sykes), and Winger's Winger (Beach). I SO wanted to play just like those guys, but whatever I did just sounded like Slayer. That's not a bad thing, but certainly not what I wanted

I sat the guitar down, and didn't pick it up until a few years later when I was a freshman in HS. FWIW Nirvana's Nevermind had just dropped, and unlike anything in the '80's, I could play everything that Cobain wrote   So, in a way that kinda makes me shrug my shoulders :aww: , I must give Kurt credit for being my biggest guitar influence. The fact that even my cat could play his songs gave me that little bit of confidence that I needed to start playing and crafting songs.

Present day influences are mainly punk characters, Greg Hetson, Fletcher Dragge, Brian Baker, Billy Graziadei, Vincent Capuccio, whatever...

When I started playing, it was definitely Hetfield. Lately, I just pull stuff from whatever I think sounds good...Arch Enemy, Lamb of God, KSE, ATR....wherever really...

First it was Jimmy Page. He got me into rock music and that's the man in my book. I've added stuff from lots of players but the short list goes:

Page
Tom Scholz
Neal Schon
George Lynch
Vitto Bratta

Honestly, when I first started out? Paul Simon. Seriously.

When I got 'round to rock & roll and lead guitar, Tommy Shaw, hands down.
Tommy Shaw is a great & little spoken of guitar player. His concentration being more on songwriting, but Styx was a big fave of mine.

I can't say just one. Overall it's easily Satriani, even though I don't listen to him anymore. The first time I heard "Surfing with the Alien", I knew what I wanted to do with my life. I was 7 or 8 years old then.

Otherwise, Steve Morse and Van Halen have been huge for me. Lately I like Chris Poland, Oz Noy and Jimmy Herring.

The first guy to come along that I hold in the same regard as I did Hendrix, Clapton, Beck and very very few others as a kid is definitely Eric Johnson.

To me he is almost in the modern era what Hendrix ,Clapton ,Beck etc. were then.

A brilliant ,creative , amazingly musical player .................maybe the first guy to actually walk THROUGH the doors Hendrix opened.

Not an influence but an inspiration-if I could get nearly that good but in my style it would be the accomplishment of a lifetime.

Alex Lifeson
Jimmy Page
David Gilmour
Scott Gorham
Leslie West
Ronnie Montrose
Ty Tabor

George Lynch. The first time I heard Tooth and Nail I was hooked. No one was better than Lynch back in the day!!

I like lots of guitarists, but Lynch was my biggest influence for sure!!

Back when Kiss Alive came out I was in middle school and thought Ace was the end all be all of guitar players......................still give him credit for lighting the fire but ugh was I in for an education

EVH
Lynch
Jimi
Yngwie
Vai
Stanley Clarke
Alex Lifeson
SRV
Vito Bratta
Satch
Steve Morse
Andy Summers
Dave Mustaine
Al Dimeola
Mr Schmutlock my HS music teacher

Several formites that blow me away made me go to the shed on a daily basis.
