Thanks!
I thought it was a bit strange when I played it at the dudes house (with a freakin original '67 Trini Lopez!) that is was kind of dark and not very gainy. Then the same at my house. However plugging into the High input felt like peanut butter. So I sprayed some Deoxit on some Q-tips and cleaned them out and then gave the actual gaps a blast and it made a huge difference. It's still not a head slicer like some I've had that you couldn't dial out, but it is nice and cutting as this circuit should be and has more gain that it had before. But it's not super tight. I cranked it thru the PS2 and getting the Master up in the 4.5-5.5 range really thickens it up without adding any flub.
Somewhat tempted to JEL it but I'll just try some boosts first. An EP type boost isn't really working.
