I find it sad that the world has been at war since the dawn of time because of something nobody can prove.
I have my beliefs, and I hold them very dearly, but I would never strike my neighbour because he thought differently.

Whatever gives you peace of mind, and heart, is good. It's a basic human need, and more often than not, this is found in your darkest hours.
Why one man would argue that his belief is worth more than the next, is ignorant to say the least.

(Not posting this at anyone here, just a thought).

I wonder what a person would believe in if he/she had never been exposed to any religion in the first place... Hm.

People strike each other every single day for FAR less than their core beliefs. While I agree that violence is the absolute wrong way to address others being different or having different beliefs, religion/world views are at our core (even for those who "don't believe) so of course humans are going to resort to violence over something they believe so strongly about.

Not right, but again, people commit violence over far, far less every single day.

I can see the traditional thing of going to church simply because its how u were raised but to actually buy into the shit and preach these fairytales as fact is just ignorance. Blind faith is for morons. I Feel that u should be free to believe what u want, but just dont believe because u are told to without questioning the logic in it. I just dont like being preached to or judged because I am unsure. I hope my rant doesnt offend anyone.

You feel that people should be free to believe in what they want, and that is correct...we have free will.
That said, you believe that religious teachings are fairytales and people need to question the logic...got it. What kind of research have you done to arrive at that conclusion? Forming uneducated opinions based on what appears to be logical is a slippery slope.

Many people are quick to point to science. Science proves itself to be incorrect over and over again yet many take it as fact. How does the concept of time and space (forward, backward, where does it end and what's on the other side of that end, etc, etc) make any more sense than a supreme being?

Blind faith is for morons? Its the only faith any of us can have no matter how clever we think we are. Nobody can prove anything relating to creation. Belief in scientific theory is just as blind as all of the others.

Unfortunately... You are right.

In a nutshell, Just live by a common code of morals in good conscience and there would be no need for religion. Although science has yet to even come close to answer everything, even as a child I questioned the notion of biblical stories like Noahs ark, Did Noah have refrigeration units to provide for the different climates of penguins and camels etc etc?? Like when u get these born again fanatics preaching that the world is only 2000 yrs old when science clearly states that as false. Their answer about dinosaur bones is that scientists are faking it i guess. These biblical stories are meant to convey an teach a basic lesson or moral (much like an episode of the smurfs or leave it to beaver) with each episode pointing out a different lesson like dont be greedy, dont covet, etc, etc.

Science is a search for the truth...when something that science had believed as fact is proven wrong , it is acknowledged and corrected.

The bible is the holy word, the undeniable truth...until something is proven wrong and then preachings will accommodate and the bible will be rewritten...now it is the undeniable truth, again! (for now)
