Then you get into the argument of free will, which in my opinion is another paradox with an all knowing, timeless creator.

Not when the creator gave you the ability to have free will.

This is becoming a theological carousel

If you are thrown into a world with a certain mind and soul, with the world already created before you enter it, how do you possibly have the tinniest bit of free will? All your actions and thoughts would be determined by the mind and soul you were given in the environment that was created for you. You didn't have the slightest say in either.

Regardless of whether you think you should have had a choice in whether you were born..... did you not choose to post in this thread?

Ok, if I had a choice whether or not I was born, wouldn't that be based on my previous experiences, soul and brain that I was given?

And whether or not I chose to post in this thread is based on the previous events and my current mind and soul (if you believe in one). So, no I didn't.

Just because a being has the ablity to override freewill doesnt mean it has to to fit into your logical box.

I'm not really sure I understand this "You can be a good Christian, but don't force it on other people". If your world view is that people without your religion are going to be in eternal pain and anguish (at least 60 percent of the world) after about 100 years of life, don't you have a responsibility as a "moral" person to convince them to convert to your religion? It seems hypocritical.

... and this is where you are wrong.

the largest Christian Church (Catholic) in the entire world doesn't preach this. Pope JP2 said that all religions/paths lead to God. my personal beliefs mirror this. i think it is kind of backwards to think a Buddhist monk, who devotes his entire life to doing good, is going to "burn in hell" for eternity.

So then why bother picking one religion over another? So I guess Satanism (not LaVey) will lead you to him then? And God created a world where eventually people would kill each other fighting over something that actually doesn't matter. Sounds like he hit it out of the ballpark with his blueprint.

This seems to be the common theme running here. Just accept it because it should be accepted. No answers, just the monotone chant of it is so because we cannot understand it...

yeah, because its so common to see atheists going door to door wanting to tell you about science and approaching people in public with their silly little tales and hand outs.

...but it is common to hear/read the same old and tired atheist rants towards Christianity. Pete, this may shock you, but the Catholic Church accepts evolution. if you want to give me some science brochures, i'd love to pass them out. :D some Christian sects are super anti-evolution. i'll admit it is kind of fun to tell them i am a Christian and believe in evolution, and then watch them freak out. of course, the same thing probably happens when i tell atheists i the same thing, like i am telling you now.

:D

Atheist dont have to go door to door because the school system is shoving that down our childrens throats as fact instead of theory.

Tha Catholic Churchs accepts evolution. Man ! dont even know where to begin. If you have Catholicism on your lists of maybes, you might as well scratch it off. Sorry to sound mean but you might as well go golfing. Evolution and Creationism do not go hand in hand no matter how many different ways you twist it. I grew up Catholic before they accepted that.

Hey lets just rock. You dudes in L.A comming to the amp show in October ?

well, the common theme around most religions, is to be a good person and give to others. give to charities, volunteer for animal rescue, etc... i don't think you necessarily have to belong to any particular Church. however, i don't think the path to enlightenment/righteousness/etc. is obtained by selfish acts, or acts that hurt others, including "christians" who mock dead soldiers, hate homosexuality, etc... i don't think a good Christian, no matter how much they disagree with it, blows up an abortion clinic and kills people. i don't think any good person kills another in the name of religion, and in fact, think quite the opposite.

it isn't an "i'm right, you're wrong" kind of thing. i think almost everyone is right.
