I randomly remembered this band outta nowhere yesterday when looking for something different to listen to. Fuck, I forgot how cool this band was. Heavy, fun, exciting…

Anyone else remember that band?

I absolutely do. In fact "Fundamental" was a huge album me and my friends listened to back in the day when we partied. It almost felt like an album of two sides....the heavy metal stuff but just the jazz and latin influenced second half of the album. Really killer album.

Puya was fantastic. it was nu-metal but it was unique and had some real musicianship to it. very thrash influenced. i like playing stuff like that for my 2 middle schoolers. "See kids, you can do anything you want in music.... like, hey here is an up tempo metal song...why not add a little salsa break down with a horn section and clean vocals right smack dab in the middle?"

Hell yeah. Great band, I remember seeing them open for Type O Negative...shit that must be about 25 years ago. Great live band as well, they brought it.

Sure do, it was definitely a different approach to heavy music with a twist. I enjoyed it at the time.
