Cabinet for EVH 5150 III Stealth 100W

I miss @braintheory. He may not have been a high gain guy, but had a great ear for tone. I bought my Naylor SD100 from him.
I loved him but he didn’t know shit about tone . He left because we saw his clips of the best amps and it was no good at all . So I’m like why Would I listen to your judgment of amps if you can’t set an amp up . Legit
But I will say this . His classical playing is just unreal good. Insane good

That's the thing. He was a classical guy, just not much on high gain. He had a good ear for tone on the high gain side, but didn't know how to dial it in. I'd trust his ear on what sounded good. I just wouldn't take his advice on how to get there.

Wait, I know who can solve this, that amp chaser guy! 🫣

This thread needs to go to 1k posts!

See that don’t make sense to me . I did trust his ability to buy all the good amps . So I’d buy anithing off him . But he was so full of shit
I liked him a lot though and miss him

I have to admit, I'm kind of gassing to try a 4x12 with the EVH speakers now. Closest thing I have is a vintage modern cab with the G12Cs

there's mis information on the 20 watt theory .... and there's mis information on the 25 watt theory .....

I think there has been substantial info shown for the 25 watt side ...... and only you and I guess one other person not sure has shown one spec sheet ..on the 20 watt side

so Mr.Spock ( if he were here ) would probably tell me to listen to the manufacturer .... and except that the cab is safe for a 100 watt head ....
because they have to cover the warranty .... so if you want to go the Maths route ... the money it would cost them to replace the cabs alone ... is enough evidence to any logic why the cab would be safe ..... they aint worried about it .... so I'm not either

I have accepted this ..... I went full Dr. Who for a few minutes .... but it was probably the Indica and the 40 grams of edibles ....

and right now actually ... believe it or not .... I have a 100 watt head going into a 1960A fully loaded with the EVH's ....
All I've presented here is actual data from the manufacturer of these speakers, Celestion, that makes these EVH speakers showing them to be 20 watts.

There really isn't any other verifiable data anyone here including you that show the manufacturer, Celestion, saying in any way these are 25 Watt speakers. All that has been presented to make that argument are specs for the Chinese RI 25 watt Greenbacks and rumors and myths.

The only 25 watt Greenbacks Celestion makes according to their spec sheets are the Chinese RI version in which case you would be right but these aren't those speakers.

You asked earlier regarding the speakers ohms and why it's tagged at 15 ohms.

Maybe the speaker is rated at 15 ohms.... Because jeez it's actually 15 ohms like the manufacturer says on the spec sheet and makes it that way, what a surprise...... Hmmm maybe it's actually 20 watts too no, because thats what the manufacturer says on the spec sheet too and that's how they make them.

Its no real big mystery or all that confusing and it's simply stating the obvious and verified data that the spec sheet shows.

Again, the same people who call the cab a 100 watts made the spec sheet. So maybe you can explain what exactly you think makes the spec sheet "Verified data".

Sounds good in your head I know.

I get where where you're coming from on him being full of shit. The way he described tone didn't line up with the way his playing was. But oddly the way he describe the core tone of an amp was near spot on. That was for sure the case with the Naylor I bought from him. I have no way to account for that. It's like he knew what an amp should sound like, but had zero idea of how to bring it out. It just didn't make sense.

Maybe it's that thing i like to say. You don't have to be a master chef to know if the food is a delicacy or tastes like shit.

so the manufacturer's ( of the cab ) spec sheet is wrong that it's a 100 watt cab ?

like I said .... there's evidence on both sides .... you can't just take in Celestions spec sheet into account ... if you do ... you have to logically accept the manufacturer of the cabs spec sheet also ..... especially since they are liable .... let me repeat that .... because they are liable for the cabs

who's wrong ??? who do I believe ??? both parties have spec sheets ....

you ever see that movie Scanners ?????

Yes and the same people right say it's a 20 watt speaker just like, Celestion, the manufacturer of the speaker does brother. So EVH/Fender says 100 watt cab but even they show in their spec sheets its a 20 watt speaker.

Look guys, Im not here trying to be a douchebag to y'all or anything and it's right there. I have no reason to lie or mislead anyone and it's right there.

And yeah they get the wattage right but mess up the Ohms like Griff said and most retailers or 3rd party users do :dunno:

It's just like the time he was adamantly trying to convince us Trump was building a ladder to hell.
