Anyone can go to Fenders/EVH website and see on their site these are listed as a 20 watt speaker and so does Celestions site and this is a bold faced lie.

1) Duncan Boniface, former lead speaker engineer at Celestion for 11 years. When they moved production to China, he bailed and went to work for Carlsbro Amps. He left after the Heritage models were introduced in 2005. He was Dr.Decibel @ Celestion, by the way. Some of you may have emailed him back then.

2) Rick Skillman, former Celestion USA rep for 19.5 years. We had this discussion about him going to EVH's studio in 2007 or so. While the label says 20w, it's actually a 25w speaker. Didn't make sense to produce two different voice coils in the same frame. I'm thinking Rick would know, since he also worked with Duncan in the UK.

3) The true 20w G12M's with the paper voice coil are in my 1967 Queen/Dokken stack. Celestion tried to get close to that tone. They failed miserably IMO, having had some & I tried them side by side in my shop with my cab switcher for instant comparison.

Why don't you all stop squabbling about this already?

I'm a contractor. I follow the bylaws of the city I'm working so I don't have problems with different building codes. Different countries have different laws regarding consumer products. It shouldn't be hard for a person to draw parallels with that.

No underreporting or overreporting allowed in Ontario, Canada according to the ESA.

How Celestion gets around that I do not know.
