Take the amp, it's what you wanted in the first place.
Sounds like you'll be lucky to get the amp....he spent the money so it's a snowballs chance in hell of seeing that.

Have to remember, we don't really know each other on forums. Most guys are cool here and wouldn't screw you, but some are probably young kids living in mommy's basement and know nothing of responsibility.

quit being protective of the fucker and post is screen name. write a review.

or do you like the fact that he could do it to someone else?

he dropped the ball big time and is not an honest seller. quit trying to be protective of him. you have every intension to worry about even knowing if the amplifier he posted even exists.

Okay, I apparently know the full story, and by no means of the seller I bought the amp from.

He sold it to another member who apparently was unable to come up with the money. He had already shipped the amp to him (before receiving payment) so the plan was to have the "new" owner ship it to me from his place. There were personal issues with this new owner and he has been unable to ship it.

The new owner seems totally legit, he PM'd me after reading this thread and stressed to me that he was under the impression that the original owner had been keeping me in the loop.

He said he should have the amp out today, WOW! Why did the original guy need to lie about all of this? I see myself as an easy going guy. I mean, I have a deal pending with lolzgreg, I've neen patiently waiting for his cab to be shipped to me but I am completely fine with it-he has kept me updated this whole time and I knew shipping would take some time before I ever even sent payment. I just don't like being lied to!

I'll keep this thread updated, if I don't receive the amp or even if there is an issue with it once I receive it, I'll out this guy. Although, I am almost certain he has a stand-up reputation among many members here.

Sorry this is happening. I'm with you, I wouldn't want the amp at this point. With all that has happened it is likely the amp is not what he says it is. Good luck!

BTW, I'm with Scott. Out the seller. The rest of us need to know since we all buy gear here.

If this is the case I hope he posts a reply himself. IMO, he needs to in order to restore any "good" reputation he might have.

Personally, I would wait til I get my amp or my money before outing him....just sayin.,..

If you paid via paypal and credit card you can nail him and get money back, but other than that unless you went through ebay then paypal is useless
 
Well from a buyer perspective, you would at least want to see your amp arrive,so I understand holding back on releasing his name. If you were a seller with nothing else to lose why ship the amp if your rep is down the drain already? Hope it works out for you, I had something happen a few months ago for a Herbert and it was the biggest pain in the ass ever. I would play it out and see how it goes, if you don't get tracking by Friday, then maybe it's time to out him and put the ball in his court to make things right.
 
Sorry the deal went bad. Hopefully the amp shows up and knocks your socks off and you forget all the bs :thumbsup:

Little story: About 6 months ago, I sold an amp that I didn’t bond with from the get go. Sold it to a guy here on RT, but before I shipped it, I had a local tech give it a quick check up. Turned out said amp had an issue from the day I got it, that kept it from sounding right. Probably something that happened in shipping or the car ride home; whatever. After the fix, I wanted to give it another go for awhile. I contacted the buyer and begged him to let me keep it and I would refund his cash and a bit extra, for the hassle. He (cool guy) really wanted the amp but left the decision up to me…I shipped the amp.
It sucked, but you have to honor your word/the deal, even to your own hurt. That’s all one has.

...obviously I'm still a bit sore over it to type more than my usual 1 or 2 lines. :lol: :LOL:

I hope everything gets solved in the end.

As a buyer you must always request a tracking number to avoid this kind of bullshit.
 
A lot of other forums I frequent like JCF and the Kramer forum require a certain post count before being allowed in the classifieds. I think it's a good idea.
 
If it wasn't the gift option you should be able to get your money back from PP even if it's not in his account anymore. They'll refund you and go after him for the money. It may take a while though. :doh:
 
Good God, talk about stress to the fucking head man! All he needed to do is tell the truth to begin with and it would have been fine. As some one said shit happens but lying about doesnt fix the problem.
 
I would be pissed. I do not do the gift option with anyone unless I know them well. Good you didn't do it. I would let him know now that if you do not have tracking by Friday at 4:30 or so that you will be filing a complaint and putting his name out there on the board. When I do a deal with anyone involving substantial dollars, I always ask them when they will ship. You wouldn't happen to be talking about Cameron, would you :D
