No Steve, If it had that there would be at leat an ounce of some pure coke in the gas tank. Kind of like the CCV that Sah just sold There were two 8 balls in the chassis.
I'd be shocked to find out that Mark does blow.

I seriously doubt it. Those kinds of people usually lie constantly, they're forgetful and very disorganized.
So you are saying people that do coke would respond by stating
' man, you cna sriously count on my honesty, and my spelling abilitee..No lye .....'
' I forgot the rest of what eye was gonna put on ya'

I'm not going to get into the personal things he told me on the phone and what the issues are because I think he told me them (for whatever reason) in confidence. The facts are....

I sold him an amp, he claims it sounds like shit and wants money to fix it. I bought this amp from a forum member who said it was awesome and indeed it was when I had it. I packed it well and shipped it to him. I told him to post a question on the forum to troubleshoot the problem but he didn't. He says he tried different tubes/fuses but with no luck. I have no idea how much he wants at this point but after hearing him tell me about his "issues" and reading about this other cluster, I don't know what to do. I don't want to ruin my reputation but I don't want be taken advantage of by someone looking to make a few bucks either. FWIW, when I told my wife what was said during our 1 hour plus first phone call, her jaw dropped.

I'm going to have to out myself, since I don't think Eric is completely to blame for this. Geeze, this is going to get personal.

I was the guy that bought it off Eric in a trade+cash deal. Eric and I are good friends and talk quite a bit. I sent the cash to Eric, he sent the amp quick, in fact so quick, I didn't get a chance to cancel the deal in time. My wife saw my paypal open on my machine, and couldn't believe I was purchasing another amp. She just couldn't understand why 6 isn't enough, lol, and we had just had a blowup about it a couple weeks ago. Not good for me, told Eric I had to send the amp back, and he could just pay me back when he was able since it was my fault. I was going to pay shipping both ways since he already sent it. This happened a few days before Thanksgiving. I got the amp day before Thanksgiving. I have 2 little boys, and both have been sick since the holidays. My wife works a hellish schedule, and I've been laid off work since October, so I've been taking care of them. I was going to ship the amp back to Eric the Friday after thanksgiving, but was just super busy with the 2 little guys. Basically projectile vomit/diarrhea in both directions, as I'm sure guys with kids can relate to.

At that point, I didn't know Eric had already worked a deal with someone. Eric tells me over the weekend, that he thinks he sold the Rectifier, so I can just ship to the buyer. Fine by me, saves loot since I only have to pay shipping to the new buyer. I don't know exactly what's going on in Eric's life, but I know it's not good. I heard from him last night in a panic at 3am, saying he thought I had shipped the amp already. I didn't even have an address at this point though, I guess he thought he sent it to me already on the weekend. I got his address info this morning, and shipped the amp out by afternoon. Worst part is, I didn't even get to hear the thing. My boys are 17mo and 3 1/2 yrs, so I can't leave them alone together to go play an amp, especially when they are sick.

Sorry you had to go thru this Hoff, lot of messed up communication, and it seems like Eric is also going thru some bad family stuff right now. Not that it makes it right, but I know he wasn't trying to screw you.

edit: didn't see I was already outed, lol

Very Cool for you to stand up and sing the song brah!
I was hoping there was some kinda reasoning here ,
other than a forum buddy goes over the edge.
Now when Eric gets a response in,
maybe this whole Red Alert can be trimmed back to Def. Con-1...... The Wives can be a real problem to a guy trying to score that next amp eh?

Damn......................

I retract everything that I have said and hope things get better for the both of you, I should have as I usually do stay out of these threads.

I dont think this deal actually went "weird", I had a craigslist deal go "weird" once but that involved a gerbil but I am not ready to talk about that yet.

haha, yeah, I don't know why she finds it so hard to understand. She thinks one should be enough, crazy idea eh.

I figure I have some blame in this. If it went down the way it was supposed to, the amp would have never even been back up for sale. Eric was nice enough to let me out of the initial deal, which he didn't have to do. I don't know much about what's going on in his personal life right now, but I know it involves family, and I know kids are involved. That will take a toll on any man.

And this was the reason why I didn't want to name names :aww:

But I think he should have told me what was going on instead of just saying he shipped it and lying saying he didn't have a tracking number because they picked up the amp when he wasn't home. Nonetheless, as I've been saying the whole time. I have nothing against the dude, just wanted this thing to be resolved (as it was by Erock)

umm...didnt want to be the only one on the forum NOT involved in this thread :D

+1000 on the wives versus gear thing.
My wife is riding me severely over picking an exact piece of gear for christmas.
It has to be something that can ,
1st off.... be here in time for christmas.
That was going to be Splawn gear but Scott is over run with orders.
She just don't get it.....
I am having a hard time trying to pick just one thing....
So right now it's the black water Les-paul or wait,
I gotta check the classifieds and I will get back to ya in a minute. :hys:

Good on you both and glad this got cleared up. Seems to be simple miscommunication in a mix of busy and hectic schedules. With lots of deals flying around, work, asses to wipe, and trying to squeeze in a little play time, it all butts heads sometime. I would have vouched for either of you. Hopefully, Hoff, who seems an understanding and patient guy can work around it and the amp is killer.

Steve

Big miscommunication selling an amp and not bothering to tell the buyer you do not actually have the amp, then telling the buyer it was shipped out when it actually never shipped...
Same goes with spending the buyers money before the buyer even gets the item..

We can just say he mis-spoke

its cool you offered you're end of the story. it still does not give anyone an excuse to lie to another person who has paid cash, held up their end of the deal, and was never sent a tracking number - or - told the truth up front before the sale to begin with. and on top of this, irresponsibly spent the money before completing the transaction professionally and in a timely manner.

those are so many no-no's in the selling/buying trade - you're asking for problems. god forbid something happened to the amplifire during shipping and a refund was needed or a complaint needed to be filed or other complications like arriving damaged.

personal problems are personal problems. we've all got shit going on in our real lives. we each are there/have been there/see someone else that is going through it.

however one persons problems do not constitute problems for another. how you solve them all comes down on your own shoulders.

he still lied. still dont trust him. i appreciate both parties coming out. i dont do much dealings on the forum, but all i expect is honesty, quick-responses, professionalism, and reasonably fast shipping.

someone dropped the ball. it seemed like the ever too familiar stunt i'd expect cameron to pull.
