Jesus who gives a shit. They're guitar strings. D'addario happens to make good ones imo. The tone in the AI video was so processed that the dude could have been playing lamp power cords or the copper lines from inside a network cable and it wouldn't have changed the tone. D'addario strings are fine, I'll keep buying them. I don't like AI as much as the next guy but all the panty pissing happening over this is stupid.
This feels like nothing more than internet people looking for anything they can to manufacture drama like usual.

They released some small ad with a dude sitting down playing some modern hyper-processed, hyper-gained out djent stuff with like a "play daddario strings" tag line or whatever. People found out it was AI and called them out, the company denied it but woops it actually was AI.
Again though, just picture me saying who gives a shit and doing the biggest eyeroll possible while I keep buying them because who cares.

I hate their standard sets. The M steel and particularly Paradigm are great though. There's a guarantee on the paradigms. I'm probably a 50/50 split between them an nyxl.

Agreed. While I’m no fan of anything AI, anyone who is offended by this, wants to be offended by his. Those types are just intrinsically looking for the next thing to be offended by, just so they can shout from the rooftops on how offended they are and if you’re not offended as I am, then you’re a bad person. And I find that outlook offensive!

Yeah NYXLs are great and I love you their regular XLs too..... D'Addarios CEO could be a wife beater..... And Id still play D'Addarios

Meh......it's kinda depressing that we live in an artificial era (on many levels), but I am proud to be a dinosaur who only creates real music with real tube amps (and live drum tracks for that matter).
As for strings, NYXLs have been my de factos for 5+ years and that won't change. Because they are the best for me and make every guitar better. In fact, I need to swap them to a certain new guitar of mine for the first time today.
Convenience is destroying relaxation and fun.
People are going to start listening to a recording of birds chirping in their host use, with fake trees, etc and will say they are enjoying the woods.
I'm glad i'm old and have a soul. I might get a full stack and 100 watt tube amp just to not be the new way.

Eventually, some dorks are going so say you don't even need strings on a guitar again, but can trigger samples on touch pads (has been done before----sucked then also), but I'll still be playing the old wooden dinosaurs with strings and amps with obsolete tubes, thanks. One of my favorite things is feeling when a tube amp is really getting warmed up, and everything sounds better and better.....
Oh, and wooden drumsticks.

With the weather is good, I open the window and hear the wind through the trees, kinda sounds like waves hitting the beach when the wind is strong. And an owl or other creature every now and then. Much better than any channel.
But sometimes I do listen to various ambience channels, can be nice at times, and helps me sleep like a stone....

I used to be into EB because the graphics for their packages looked cool growing up.
My fave EB set if I do get them is the Classic Rock N Rock Pure Nickel Sets. I remember buying them when I went to a Sam Ash. The guy said back in the day that's what players used. Plus the names on it from all the artist and it's a West Coast Company.
Not sure if they weren't selling and he just said it but I used those for most of my time playing guitar until my college Jazz Professor switched me over to D'Addario. Had my doubts as they were East Coast.... But they sound fucking great.
Then tried NYXL after doing a set up at GC where they hooked it up with NYXL for the set up.... Yeah after that it was pure D'Addarios.
Fender and Gibson strings are also made by D'Addario. For my Les Pauls I use the Gibson strings and for Fenders, Kramers and Charvels it's all D'Addario. My Charvels just use NYXL because they really do elevate the guitar to another level IMO.

It kinda is. I bought mine in 2015 then gigged with it for a couple years without ever changing or needing to change the strings. Here it is 2026 and I can't recall for certain, but I've only ever changed the strings once or twice.
The Ric on the other hand has went through hundreds and hundreds of sets of Rotos over the years.
