D'addario drama

I'm getting burned out on people complaining about not getting what they wanted, blah, blah.

I'm retired military and stopped going to the free Veterans Day offers by restaurants, etc. because I watched people just go from place to place getting free food and it pissed me off. Just ruins the purpose of it and like everything these days, turns into a damn carnival.

The more life I live, the less conveniences I want because i'm just getting burned out on human beings. Everyone just demands refunds, etc. Sometimes you get the burned food. Just eat it and shut the hell up. You missed the sale. Too bad, move on.

They're like fucking cockroaches.

There's nothing wrong with Slinkys.
I was using Danelectro Vintage strings in 2000, when I finally moved to 10’s.
I’m in D with a 26” scale.
The guitars began to speak nicely. I didn’t need any supposed extra tone from quirky strings anymore.
Realised my frets were taking huge wear from the vintage strings, and moved over to Ernie Balls again.
I like them. Dependable tone.
D’Addarios for me always had a weird feel to them.
Maxima Gold were a nice departure for a while, but I’ll always come back to Ernie Ball.

The guy in OP who makes these videos ain't bad and I think he's a standup guy.....

But I mean when did guitar players become such victim attention getters or not sure how to say it....

Why play victim all the time over shit that don't matter....

D'Addario strings are great quality, they sound amazing, they are priced great..... What else do you want, a fucking pony too 🐎

I've always used Slinkys on guitars. I even have them on my daily beater acoustic.

Basses I historically gravitate to fresh Roto 66s, but when I got the Spector it came with these EXL-170s and they sound fucking awesome and last forever. I was putting fresh Rotos on the RIc every third gig.

Rotos are the industry standard for good reason.
I’ve put Elites on my Bass for the studio, but would fit Rotos in a heartbeat if I was ever gigging Bass again.

I used DR pure blues for a good while after I had moved on from Ernie ball slinky's. But they had a QC issue for a while many years ago and eventually moved on to NYXL's and I fell in love with those strings.

Everyone loves drama and gossip especially today.

I have been using d'Addario strings since day 1. I won't click on another stupid bait link. What's the issue? Another frustrated YT that needs clicks and views to keep his channel alive?

I use whatever strings MF puts on Deal of the Day once every couple months.
Ha ha.
I was living a hippy lifestyle, and playing free festivals back in ‘83, and a benefit cheque came every two weeks. My rent included veggie food so grub wasn’t a worry (I had burgers in the bottom of the freezer, and would have 3am frying sessions on the AGA when everyone was asleep!)
A quarter of dope, a carrier bag of chocolate, and cigs and papers. Good record stalls in the local market took some funds. Discovered Adrian Belew’s solo stuff there as the stores had some great stuff. W.H.Smiths were stocking Zappa’s latest! But those stalls man. Todd Rundgren, Frank Marino, Zappa - real gems for £1.50.
I also bought leaf tea, sugar, milk, and ground coffee, as the other cunts in the band were drinking fucking Barley Cup!
That left me about £5.
I had fallen out with the local music shop, and wouldn’t buy his Slinky’s at £4 a set.
So every 2 weeks, I would hitch to Carmarthen, and get the train to Swansea to buy strings.
There was a market stall I found with incredible second-hand albums. There was also a stall near it with unbranded clear-pack strings at £1 a set. They came with spare top E and B strings.
So, for 6 months I would come away with two albums and two sets of strings for just £4! Ticket was 60p, which left me enough for a cup of tea and a choc bar.
Well, those strings were fucking abominable! I think if you bought a Russian guitar in a Russian market for £1 - these are the strings it would be fitted with!
Over 30 gigs with those bastards. I used to record rehearsals, and actually had a cassette with a complete compilation of every mid-song string break! I just learned to treat them carefully on gigs. Although I was still batshit bonkers by usual standards.
I ended up with a huge record collection, a huge following, and no fucking frets! Lol

I've never tried Rotos but a friend of mine swears by them. Flatwounds are my preference and Ernie Balls never did me wrong though.
Flats are great if you're just playing at home. Nice and smooth, easy on the fingers. I never had any luck with them in a live mix with any of the bands I was in. With the current state of digital everything and modelers and multi FX though, who knows.
