Fair price for a Triple Recto Rev F blackface early serial?
I think of it more like the 6505 thing, and why they work so well in a mix. They definitely have great mids but I would hesitate to call it “cocked wah”. That always make
Me think of the opening riff in “Money for Nothing”. The tone has no clarity.
Ha! Might only take a really good 2203!"It would only take a nudge, to make you like me......mwahahahaha!"
Maybe around $3500? Seems to me Triple F prices have been pretty stable for a while. That's my second favorite Recto behind the RI.Fair price for a Triple Recto Rev F blackface early serial?
Yeah. New prices are increasing too frequently and all they do is drag the used ones along for the ride. The shit that’s at a premium now and causing you to taste it in the throat, wait until later in 2026 and it will really peel your cap back when they raise it again.inflation has been going too crazy for too long for the used prices to go down.

The old mesas like blowing caps that’s for sureYou're right on the money. I'm the target audience for a DR Reissue. I've owned so many different revisions as well as tremoverb, road kings, roadsters, triple recs, etc.. They're all in the same ballpark. Rev F's are up at 3500 used? I can get the RI for $3299 with warranty, maybe ask my Sweetwater Rep for a better discount. A lot of those old rectifiers are aging out to 30 years old, time to change filter caps, clean jacks, clean/lube pots, replace leaking sprague caps, etc.. I'll just buy a new one with the blackface and chrome chassis and full warranty.
Can u back this claim? Anyone else want to address this being a widespread issue. The old mesas like blowing caps that’s for sure
I can confirm it. Both my Mark III and IV had bad caps. I had to send the III twice to Mesa to get it fixed for blown caps, they didn't replace them all the first time. That was way back in like 2013 I think? Can u back this claim? Anyone else want to address this being a widespread issue.

I suppose. I heard many stories from others who had bad caps in their Mesa's though. I wonder why? It's not like they used low quality capacitors. That is an anomaly![]()

I’ve had so many problems with caps . Sending back and forth to Mesa . Like I get one fixed then get it back then other blows . It might be my bad luck but I’ve had problems personally . My mark 3 has one blown again . Mike said he’d fix it fur free again just pay shipping . But I’m not shipping again .Can u back this claim? Anyone else want to address this being a widespread issue.
The Rectos do have a cap or some caps that are only rated at 400 volts that are seeing higher voltages in the circuit. I forget which one it is. Those will blow in time. Randall wasn't the greatest amp designer in the world. I will just leave it at that. Can u back this claim? Anyone else want to address this being a widespread issue.
