Sorry to spam up your thread, but there’s always so much new music. I usually check out a bunch of new stuff, find a few albums that click for me and then wear them out.

Michael Romeo is coming out with his War of the Worlds Part 2 in early February. He released 1 song as a preview.
If you haven’t checked out War of the Worlds Part 1 that came out about 3 years ago, check that out, it’s pretty badass.

This is one of my buddies tracks that he did a few months ago. He always does some quick clips of gear and always sounds great.

Any time him or Bubbastain post a vid I watch.

What kind of tones are you into?

I'm into mostly nwobhm/power/classic metal, and some older death and black - I really like the tones of accept, scorpions, blind guardian, helloween, iced earth, diamond head

Modern metal like KSE, Lamb of god, etc actively annoy me. And there are a very few doom type bands I enjoy - Candlemass, thergothon, skepticism are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head

I really just don't care for most modern metal sounds :dunno:

thought it was Hetfield at first....he's channeling his inner metallica.

i like the term "channeling", its like a polite way of saying nice try  it was actually the "growls" after that though that literally made me LOL. Check out the album Alien by Strapping Young Lad, it sounds like this kind of but good

You like lower preamp gain/higher power amp gain British tones with high energy riffing. I can relate! Would “Wake Up Dead” by Megadeth be a good example?

Here,...... you can't beat this tone. Mixed amps, and when the Recto kicks in, holy fuck. Best recorded tone ever.

Yes. I like faster stuff with British style tones. "Wake up dead" probably isn't the best example - that's a rockman, I think. Used as a preamp into a Marshall and a fender twin IIRC. But in that ballpark.

Kai Hansen is one of my favorites

As well as Weiki

Manni from grave digger has sick bogner toans

But my all time favorite is Jon Schaffer, by a long shot (skip to 1:10 if you don't wanna hear the piano intro)

This is a phenomenon that has always baffled me. It's difficult enough, finding a tone/sound that identifies you as an individual. I know guys who have been playing for decades, and still can't find a sound.
