That didn't take long.

I just scored two brand new Splawn's.......head shells. Scott makes some killer replacement shells, fast delivery and reasonably priced. Needed a couple for some Marshall's - one 87 and one 59 series.

I agree!! The headshells kick ass !! Just don't put a splawn chassis/ amp in it..

That's going to leave a mark.....

Absolutely loved the first Mesa Tremoverbs but never bought one. Fast forward 10 years or so and bought a Roadster, couldn't get rid of it quick enough! Thought maybe the Roadking would do it, nope

Played my son's friend early Tremoverb, awesome! What happened MESA? How could you screw up such a great sounding amp????

There's a 20pF cap in the Roadster, Road King, and standard Rectifiers that the Tremoverb doesn't have. It really opens up the top end in that amp, IMO. Love the Tremoverbs!

Never got a direct sound out of a POD XT Live that I liked... so you can put that one on the list. I liked it for effects but, ABSOLUTELY NOT for the amp models.
Boss HM-2, don't even know why I ever bought that pedal. The original can of bees buzzing sound.
Peavey CSR-2. Bought it because it would sustain notes longer suposedly. All it did was add noise. So I guess it sustains noise.
Rocktron XDC. Yuck.
I also had a Mesa Tremoverb 2X12 combo that did NOTHING for me. While I'm on Mesa, a Mesa Stiletto Trident that I tried to like but, didn't do anything for me either.
The worst cab in the world was the matching cab to Fender Roc-Pro, the GE412. Like swimming in the waters of the Loch Ness. Honorable mention for another cab(s) that I've owned before that was less than desirable were my Carvin V212 (vertical 2X12's loaded with Carvin BR12's). The cabs were light and well built but, man so far inferior in tone to the other cabs I had around at the time (except for the Fender GE412 of course, the Carvin cabs SPANKED the Fender cab).

To be fair, I think of the problem with the TSL602 was the stupid-ass "Wolverine" Speakers it came with. God, I still get diarrhea just thinking about that amp.

...And the Splawn comment won't leave a Mark. I have great compassion and pity for those born retarded and tone deaf. Perhaps one day there will be a cure... Until then, haters gonna hate. I know a guy who still thinks his Roland GP-16 full wet into the front of a JCM800 with the speaker simulator on into a 4x12 sounds great. Sounds like swirling ass, but there's no convincing him--it covers up his incredibly sloppy playing.

The LINE 6 FLEXTONE was absolutely the biggest POS amp I ever owned. I bought two and each had volume issues within a 30 minute timeframe. It sounded great but never got a chance to enjoy it. Reliability nightmare.

Lots of things. Rivera Bonehead, Tyler SE that had a broken neck which the dealer refused to admit, Tyler Variax etc.

Bogner Uberschall Rev. Blue - Sounded great with a boost but absolutely hated that amp without it.

Bogner XTC 101b - There were some ok tones it in but overall it was really harsh on most channels to the point where I had an extremely hard time dialing it out.

Soldano SLO - Good amp, but I expected MUCH more for the pricetag. Is honestly rather have a Hotrod or Avenger.

Orange RV100 MKII - The original was badass. The new one was kinda meh.

Ampeg SVT line - Every bass player I know oogles over these things and the Mesas next to them kicked the shit out of them

Diezel VH4 - Would be cool... If it was $2000 cheaper. Sounds great on recordings, hate it for the price whenever I've tried it. Don't get the hype.

VHT Ultralead - For years I'd gassed over this amp, thinking it'd be the perfect match for me, I've owned 2 since then and they're good but lack the "awesome" I thought it'd have.

Engl Powerball - Fizzy mess. Do not like.

FJA modded Racktifier - Aside from the 3 ch triple, the worst Recto I've ever heard.

3 Ch Triple Recto - I'd honestly rather play through a Line 6 Spider.

Mesa Mark IV - Lead channel is great, the rest I could do without.

Dammit.... With a shit list like that, what did you settle on?

so far the only amp I've kept for a long time is my bias modded 5150. Unless the 5150 III mini is better when I finally try one, I'll probably never get rid of that amp. Might not be the best, but its certainly the only amp I've had and felt like it was worth more than what I paid.

I've also got an Axe FX II right now that I quite enjoy, but I find myself wanting to try other things again right now

Peavey XXX. Zero balance in the tones. Highs took from the lows, mids were worthless. I've heard other people make them sound good and it could've been something wrong with the one that I had, but I've owned a lot of Peavey heads and never thought of them as unworkable until that one. Maybe a lemon, but not stoked on giving those another try.

I went through a phase where I had to try every amp in the Mesa Mark series since I loved my Mk III soooo much. I've kept the Marks in the middle.

But, Mesa Mark I is only good if you are Santana and playing single note lines. No definition to chords at all. I have no idea how anyone who plays chords can enjoy one.

Mesa Mark V... It was too mediocre at everything. I guess the "Mark IV" mode on channel 3 was cool, although it didn't sound like my real Mark IV. It was promptly sold upon my Diezel Herbert discovery.
