i owned every version of Cameron,modified, Schmidt cvv, Brad ccv, BE, pt, modified hbe 800. Firebolt is at the top of the list to my ears. I like it more than my TOL which I've owned since 94 and my Steavens Poundcake. So ya it rips!

He was getting beat on?? No, he started the trash talking right out of the gate. No one was defending anyone that I remember, until he attacked them. Cameron, well I get it.....to a point. But those other guys did nothing to him. All I ever did was read and be entertained, up to the point where he started getting downright weird. The 'Jose's ghost' thing..ya ....OK.....

To see these prices now is a total turnoff for me...especially since he went on and on how "their" prices were "ripping people off" because "no one can justify charging that much for what all the components cost to build one". He went on to say that people were "paying for the name" and for "an amp who's design was stolen from Jose". He again went on...an on...and on, on how he was going to "make it right" for "everyone"

I have no doubts that the amp sounds great, but what I can't stand is a liar and a bullshitter. The guy lack integrity in my book - that's a deal breaker for me

You definitely bring up a valid point. Having been in this business...builders usually suffer from eyes being bigger than their stomach. Meaning.... ya I can build it for X....then they find out...um no I can't, needs to be X+

Plus, that "Dirty Steve" amp episode where Blades delivers something just about ready to start a house fire and is unwilling to do anything to help the guy. Steve had to rebuild his entire amp, himself. Yeah, there's that.

Plus, a reputable guy in Steve Henning can offer a beautiful 50W amp for $2200.

I did look at his prices long ago out of curiosity and the 50w were I think 1599, 100w were 1899. From memory. Those were good prices. Obviously times change.

for the guys who aren't up to date on blades, a lot of what people reference can be found in this thread, it is over 30 pages long. There are actual passages from blades online rants, some where he says he would never start an amp company, many where he says his amps will be half the price of others, and many other lies, attacks, utter nonsense, and full blown chaos known as the blades.

here is another good blades post, the title is "who the fuck is billy blades," and he posted it himself. one of the things he says is the fireboly is the Cameron jose, the venom is the Cameron Aldrich, and this one I didn't know, it is new to me, the beast IS THE FORTIN HULK MOD!! He bashed Cameron and fortin a lot, and he openly says his amps are copies of the Cameron and fortin. pretty amazing There are some real gems in this one.

notice in the first post he put up a clip of that 20 watt disaster, and talks about the greed of the guys who mod amps, and just rambles insanely for the next page or two. some pretty funny reading, if it doesn't get you worked up. he comments about their prices and greed through out this page.

I have had my Blades FireBolt for almost 3 years now. Just threw in some new JJ's and its still the best amp Ive owned. The CCV in an A/B…..didnt beat the Blades Firebolt. The clarity, tone, and noise floor on the Firebolt was THAT much better.

I had a Cameron modded Marshall 1987X in a WHITE Shell, sold on eBAY about 4 years back….crazy you mentioned that. This FireBolt is a STOMPER. I had a 5150III in White…sold that as well. Had a Rivera Knucklehead, 5 Splawns, Dailey C-Series, a slew of pre-amps like a Kitty Hawk Testerossa/ADA MP-1, Tripler Giant, Soldano PRE's, this Blades is just CHEWIER.
Im NAILING "Women N Children" like Im listening to the record. Best I can describe it, then it goes to Lynch, ANY Lynch.
