Nice to see you back playing and whoring man. Good score, I think it sounds pretty sick as is, hope the new cab gets it going for you.
Not sure if you’re being stupid on purpose or just poor reading comprehension... either way, go back and look at what I responded to. Unless you feel it’s perfectly normal to hide speakers and subs to enhance your product. ?What????
You actually think that's fucked up?
You fucking puke.
the isp sub does it everytimeIt’s interesting you bring up the 2x15... many don’t realize fhis, but when Hiwatt came out with that fortin designed amp a few years Ago at NAMM, everyone was floored by how huge it sounded. Little did anyone know, they secretly had it hooked up to a 2x15 and/or the isp sub cab out of sight the entire time... talk about shady.
Does this sound good in conjunction with a 412 or is it about the same low end response as a 412 or does it take the lows to a whole other level?the isp sub does it everytime
in conjunction with 4x12. It gives the amp balls, there's this guy on YouTube who uses it on every video, think he was here back in the day, the subman cometh. Night and day difference when playing with one due to the low frequency response.Does this sound good in conjunction with a 412 or is it about the same low end response as a 412 or does it take the lows to a whole other level?
Thanks. Yeah that's Gsxrbusa a member here. I forgot he uses one and was a big fan.in conjunction with 4x12. If you ever see one buy it. People dont even know. It's not some holy grail but it's pretty fkn awesome.Thanks. Yeah that's Gsxrbusa a member here. I forgot he uses one and was a big fan.
I know lukather and the guy from the Deftones was endorsing them for a while. I was looking for one a while back and they were near impossible to get.If you ever see one buy it. People dont even know. It's not some holy grail but it's pretty fkn awesome.
I had one and sold it to Tom just because it wasn't efficient to lug around to our small gigs at the time but wish I kept it.
GC has the smaller 300w version for sale now on the used section but I haven't tried that one. Is tempting but I probably wont.
Yeah they are one of the rarest items out there. While I haven't been desperately searching I haven't seen one in a very long time.I know lukather and the guy from the Deftones was endorsing them for a while. I was looking for one a while back and they were near impossible to get.
I’m shocked that no other companies have been trying to take the idea and make money from it. It makes a huge difference when you are a bedroom player. Think in a band setting it would drown out the bassYeah they are one of the rarest items out there. While I haven't been desperately searching I haven't seen one in a very long time.
ISP customer service is top notch as well. IIRC mine was damaged in shipping and the dude walked me through how to fix and sent me a new board on a discontinued item.
The problem with the band setting was the other guitarist not the bass.I’m shocked that no other companies have been trying to take the idea and make money from it. It makes a huge difference when you are a bedroom player. Think in a band setting it would drown out the bass
Well the Cali arrived. Interesting amp, I really like it upon first impression but I will need a lot of time with this one. There are tons of switches and to be quite honest it is kind of hard to dial in for me.
It chugs, can get pretty brutal and TBH it sounds pretty fucking sick to me. Does not have to always be "klanky" as Fortin's can be known for which is good.
I do dislike a few things however. It is pretty finicky and hard to dial in as stated above but I literally just got it so I really need to dive in and learn the amp.
On first impressions it sounds better at low volumes. I prefer saturated tones and while this does have a SAT option (awesome), when you turn the amp up it seems to get thicker and lose the saturation. Definitely something I need to look into learning - how to keep the saturated tone at a high volume?
EDIT - This paragraph was user error........I think my biggest dislike so far is the way that the actual saturation set up. The bass knob has a pull option that engages the SAT....But then what happens to the bass? No idea, no way to control the Bass when Sat is engaged. Pretty stupid if you ask me. I guess it becomes a fixed frequency. Some of the many switches can definitely adjust the "thump" but I would prefer this instead: Instead of having THREE bright switches (what the fuck?) maybe have only 2 and then its own SAT switch or even an extra dial or something. IDK this is just foreign to me.
The white tolex looks pretty fucking awesome in person which surprised me.
The volume taper is horrible. Does not really bother me but I know a lot of players hate this kind of thing. Seems to go from 0 to 8,000 pretty quickly but on the other hand it can get LOUD for what I think is a 50w amp which is win.
I am new to Fortin amps, first one I have ever played and I have spent maybe 15 minutes with the dials so take all of this with a grain of salt.
Does it sound killer? Definitely.
Is it a perfect amp? Definitely not. (does that even exist?)
Is it worth the super mega price tag? Idk, it seems to be a pretty awesome amp and I like it, well built and I am not quite sure what I can get the amp to do just yet so that is TBD for me but it does sound really good. It also has that "rare" I will only build 200 of these amps Fortin Aura so I will sell this for $10k if anyone is interested.
Here is my obligatory cell phone clipKeep in mind the speaker setup is garbage in this cab.
Caparison Dellinger 7 AXFM
Maxon OD 808 (thanks napalmdeath)
Peavey MS412 - 2 K85 on bottom and op top it has a K70 and a Marshall GM speaker, yikes. Need to fix my setup, was just a quick buy because I was cab-less but anyway check it out.
Give me some time with the amp and I may change my opinion on some things. Overall killer amp and I am not mad.
Edit: Disregard my sloppy playing and I wanted to add I feel this amp definitely needs a boost pedal. Doesn't bother me too much, I typically prefer a boost on 90% of the amps I have played anyway.
Damn, where'd you get the Natas? Wanna trade?Hey man congrats brother, I have a Natas and a Shooga From Fortin, It takes time to dial them in and get used to the interaction of the pots. Super sensitive to cab And speaker changes FYI Enjoy it God bless!
I been collecting for a long time, Bought it right at the end just before he had no parts left for it. I believe the transformer or something became unavailable. Im a total gear whore lol Been collecting from before the Steve_K Days.. Heres a shot for proof lolDamn, where'd you get the Natas? Wanna trade?![]()
The Natas is super sensitive to cab and control changes. The controls are extremely interactive and it has a much higher learning curved for dialing in as a result. I also have a Cali mod and with the switches it took me a bit to settle in where I liked it when I first got it. Once you learn the controls they come to life. It was my main gigging amp at the time. That thing thumps and cuts with the best of them.Hey man congrats brother, I have a Natas and a Shooga From Fortin, It takes time to dial them in and get used to the interaction of the pots. I hadn’t heard about an isp sub being used, but I do recall hearing about the cab with the 15” being used. It was a cab they were releasing as part of that line: 2x12/1x15. It was talked about pretty openly on some Facebook threads when those videos went up, so it wasn’t all hush hush.
