It got a ton of shit for "not having a pure tube signal path" and a bunch of other stupid shit back in the day.

It's not meant to sound like a superlead lol
A klon doesn't either. I guess it sucks now and should be worth under $100

I know they get tons of hate but I love the jmp-1.

I got this one for 300$ and I love having it around for when I'm feeling some def-toans.

These are on some of my favorite 90s records.

This comes to mind immediately:

This is one of those pieces of gear that I think was highly misunderstood by the public - they were trying to make it sound like EVH instead of what it was designed to sound like.

You guys know of any gear like that? Has a bad rep, but is actually quite useful?

Edit, accidentally linked my cover band instead of the Therion track

First things first, give that JMP-1 a ‘digital bath’…
DRIVE!?

i always kind of wondered why these werent more popular? deftones definitely did good with them, billy gibbons had racks of them, the dude from Staind used them when they were super huge, i think Corgan was using them for a while. on the internet though they are kind of left out
I think it was pretty expensive for one and the rack thing was dying out when they came out.
I actually liked the SS valvestate preamp better.

May pick one up sometime to mess with a bit.

I Had one back in the day before i took guitar playing seriously & could never get it to sound right. I remember asking a dude i knew back then that owned one & he said " Hey dumbass turn up the power amp volume LOUD & then use the output volume of the JMP-1 to control the overall volume" Problem solved. I Ran it through a Mesa 2:90 on deep or Modern Mode.

The triaxis is another one that’s never talked about, like when is the last time that thing was discussed around here?? I remember wanting one so bad in the 90s looking at ads lol

Same here.....never snagged one, but Mercuriall has a TriAxis plugin that takes the TriAxis presets that you can find on the internet...sounds and feels really good to play for a plugin.

HNAD OP, 3 bills is a steal!

I used that and the 9200 for some time. loved it. if I ever see one of these local for a deal, I am going to grab it.
