arrived last night.
Fender Japan made
2006 TL62b-75.
Beautiful fiddle. Really good shape for a 20 yr old fiddle. Sounds incredible. Plays really well.
Not stoked with the vintage fret wires but I’ll survive.
Honeymoon phase in effect for sure. But I dig it.
That looks classy!

Braddah Braddah, for lots less money I would go this route.....I've got them in a couple Tele's and they'll rock and twang and everything in between

mahalo my man! yeah totally just in exploring my options phase so thanks for the intel.
took the tele to GC to scope out some used amps, new princetons and played a headstrong combo which really sounded nice and kinda smoked the competition. even the lessons guy came over and said nice things about my playing and the tone i was getting, oogling over my cheapo beater $500 indo tele🤣

Haha I guess this is where I ask for my Annual Dark Dumble clip request 😏

Tele’s? Guilty as charged.

a butterscotch maple board is as american as apple pie to me. i just like having one around the house to look at and strum from time to time.
This one is special....Custom Classic that J. Black went through and did a full retrofit and refinish. J. Black started the Fender Custom Shop Relic program. Its the most epic realistic butterscotch finish I've ever run across, this is basically a custom shop guitar that a Master Builder hot rodded after the fact.

After a little time with my Tele I’m realizing the Texas specials aren’t really to my liking..a little ice picky to me.

Pups swap likely at this point.
Recommendations welcome.

If you want a blackguard tele sound with crazy high output check out the BKP Piledrivers.

If we are talking reasonably priced tele pickups- I like the hot 50s variants and really dig the American Metal neck pickup that Planet Tone offers.

The Kiesel demo with Ol' Boy - Yes 100%.

The demo with Greg, other than his playing, sounded off. Didnt dig those tones at all.
i liked the acoustic quality of the cleans he was getting but agree he has always veered toward the tighter drier side of tele tone. i think i could make those pickups work for me.

but then this curveball came my way

I personally have disliked several guitars with Fishman Fluence in them. I have no idea why, they just do not work for me. It's like, I can't quite figue out what I dislike while playing them, I just do.
