I'm going to answer my own question, after reading the SD thread I am going with no. Certain customers no matter how much cash are not worth the grief they can potentially bring.

He actually wanted to send a loaded pickguard back to Seymour Duncan for a refund that he bought loaded from a dealer. SD does not offer loaded or any pickguards at all in their catalog.

He missed the point that he did not purchase individual line items and factory packaging from a dealer intended for individual sale. There is a difference between buying pickups for individual sales and buying an assembled item that uses OEM parts, which is what happened it that case. I am quite certain that OEM pickups are even packaged different than pickups meant for individual sales. It would be like buying an assembled amp with groove tubes and a Mercury Magnetics Transformer. If either went, you need to go through the amp maker, not MM or GT as they were OEM parts in an assembled item with it's own line item. It's really not a hard concept to grasp.

I got to the point in the thread where the SD rep explained what's up and dude's response, and quit.

This is like me buying a Porsche and then changing my mind about the deal, and instead of returning it to the dealer where I got it, I'm calling the factory and demanding a refund.

Dude they'd ALREADY SOLD THE PICKUPS, you're not even DEALING with SD anymore, you're dealing with the store that sold you the fucking pickups, that's where you'd return them to!

Like I stated in the beginning, I have no problem with that at all. I even said in my opening post that I might have possibly even bought it at their listed price. The problem is that they waited the whole 24 hours to turn me down without any explanation whatsoever. That's a big waste of my time. I made a reasonable offer and waited for them for an entire day.

It wasn't too long ago that I tried to share some good, detailed information and pictures about a fantastic guitar manufacturer that makes top-notch guitars at affordable prices. Unfortunately, because of these same losers, I had to delete it. It's a terrible disservice to this forum because there are people who appreciate that kind of information and find it useful. The more they get to engage in mob rule, the more this forum will deteriorate. I'm no longer willing to give my knowledge as freely as a result of their behavior. Perhaps in that sense they've achieved their objective.
