We'll see what kind of character this team has now.
I think you already saw it last night in the form of penalties by Crosby, Malkin and Kunitz.

I actually didn't. I walked away right before 4-0.

But I read about it...and I'm not surprised. It's frustration. Just like the Wings were jawing at each other after giving up the three quick goals in Game 4.

The important part is what carries over obviously...the Wings shrugged off Game 4 and moved on. The Pens need to shrug off Game 5 and move on. If they can't, then they aren't ready to be champs anyway. If they can, and can force a Game 7....well anything can happen in Game 7 as the cliche goes...

OK, so you're losing...man up and take it.

I actually wanted to see Pittsburgh upset Detroit, but after seeing all the dirty hits and cheap shots from Pittsburgh...go Detroit!

I knew that game would be hard to win, especially after the beating the Wings took in game 4. You knew they had something to prove. I think we actually came out and were all over them for about 10 minutes. We missed some incredibly good chances that you can't miss in the playoffs. The first penalty kill it all started to go bad and once we lost that momentum we couldn't turn it around. It was similar to what happened in game 4, but the difference was Detroit's "meltdown" was not to the degree that ours was. Maybe that's where the youth still shows through.

It sucked. It was an ass kicking. I know the wings didn't suddenly get that much better and we got that much worse in two days, so I'm confident we'll be competitive in game 6 and we are very tough at home. I'd imagine the Pens will do everything humanly possible to keep detroit from raising the cup on our ice again and combined with saving face from last night's game I think we'll see their best effort.

GO PENS!!!

You know what, I just watched the highlights on TSN and I'm not feeling too bad about it. They should have been taking it to them from Game 1 rather than waiting until now. It's not like Detroit plays a squeaky clean game. You've got to respond in kind. Just not out of frustration and now waiting until the game is out of reach - because that's when stuff gets called. There's a time and a place for it and when you're getting toasted on the PP, that's not the time...

Game 5 of the western conference finals detroit pounds Anaheim 4-1. The next game Anaheim comes back to win the next game.

Game 4 of the western conference finals detroit pounds chicago 6-1 in their meltdown game. Chicago comes back and takes them to overtime on their home ice in the next game.

A loss is a loss and as embarrassing as that was, it counts the same as the first two where we "played well but lost". It wouldn't matter if we lost 3-2 last night. After that beating the Pens are either going to go in the tank or come out on fire.

Tell ya what, those Detroit Red Wings really looked old and worn out now didn't they?

Welcome to the finals Pavel Datsyuk....

15 down, 1 t go!!!!!!

Lets Go Red Wings!!!!!

Several times I've seen Crosby swing his stick at people because he's not winning and Malkin goes around trying to take guy's heads off.
Not something I can really respect...the kids have a little maturing to do.

If there was a mic on Crosby when goes around slashing I bet it would sound like "BWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAA" :D

Well, like I said I only watched highlights. But they showed Zetterberg crosscheck Crosby in the face in a play prior to him slashing in retaliation. How many times would you take that, have it not get called, before you eventually swing back? The Wings are real loose with the sticks and elbows. When it doesn't get called, I'm sure it gets frustrating pretty quickly. Like I said before, if they had started giving it back in Game 1 and set the tone right then, it might not have gone any further than that.

Anyway, water under the bridge. They need to get their shit together for Game 6.

Isn't it a game day today? I wish I could see the remaining game(s)...

Hard to say with the NHL's scheduling. Just another in a long line of stellar moves by America's #1 Pro Sport.

They should have played the game last night, that way it wouldn't be on at the same time as game 3 of the NBA Finals tonight. Stupid. There was nothing on TV last night.

If there's a Game 7 (One of the larger IF's in the world), it'll be another 2 days between games. Ridiculous.

Lots of action tonight. Let's hope the Pens don't shoot themselves in the foot tonight. The Pens look pretty good so far. Hell both teams look great!

Not good that we didn't capitalize on that great first period. We really outplayed them and had the puck nearly the whole period. Gotta keep that shit up for two more periods if we want to win. Can't let up at all or else we're done.

:jerkit: Bring it. If Pittsburgh wants to do the home-and-home thing, cool. The last time they were at the Joe they left the ice with their diapers full. LET'S DO THIS! :boxer: :uzi:

What a series.

I'm sure there isn't really any panic in Detroit, but I just wanted to post that video. :D
