There's a lot more than subjective opinion in that post. For instance, he was implying that Nickelback are "corporate stooges" as a known fact. Maybe Nickelback sincerely love the music they make.bonedarrell":24kuttq4 said:nevusofota":24kuttq4 said:+1Bob Savage":24kuttq4 said:Nodnarb25":24kuttq4 said:My main source of musical "income" (of course, I do have to keep a day job) is performing covers. But, even my cover band that gigs regularly has the good taste to not play that kind of tripe and we still make money!
I don't care if you're into being a corporate stooge. Enjoy that.
I firmly believe there are ways to be creative and have fun with music that don't involve being a completely soulless automaton. I would enjoy being a musician full time, but I am really "okay" with toiling in relative obscurity if it means I get to do it on MY own terms. If you're worried about shareholders, you probably should get out of playing music. Odds are very high that there are other widgets to hock that'll make you a lot more dough.
Yet another person that thinks taste is objective, that they have all the right answers and that everyone else is somehow failing to see that 2+2=4.
Thanks for posting this, you saved me from having to type it.
Good gosh guys......the man just gave his "subjective" opinion. He made no claims that he has scientific support of his opinion, thus making any of it "objective." I dont happen to agree with Nodnard25, but a lot of people share different opinions than me and his is just another example. A lot of people will share different opinions than you in life. Just roll with it and move on just like I am going to do..........see, watch.
