For the most part I agree, Marty wrote and performed all the most well known a respected lead lines. But I just think Pitrelli plays those parts better, cleaner and with more soul. He has some real great playing on The World Needs a Hero, but it's hard to compete with Mary's catalog. I have to say, even though he was a fairly capable player, I dont remember too much of anything Al Pitrell ever did with Megadeth. Without really wishing to dig up a whole new debate, Marty Friedman will always be the classic lead voice of Megadeth for me, notwithstanding the "inverted claw" approach .
I think Broderick is probably the technically best player, but both he and Friedman pretty much own Pitrelli.
